A perfect programme and a cool mix are the key at Rock am Ring and Rock im Park, Germany’s most popular open-air concerts. The young, fresh and current line up with chart toppers like Mando Diao, Peter Fox, The Killers, The Prodigy and now also Razorlight has electrified more than 100,000 fans, who have already got their tickets to the twin festivals from the 5th to the 7th June on the Nürburgring and in Nuremberg. For the Ring only 10,000 tickets are still available. To be as fair as possible, the second discount price on ticket purchases is now valid until 31st March.

Headliners such as Placebo, Billy Talent, Bloc Party and The Kooks will definitely make the Ring and the Park more attractive. Providing a harder pace and darker colours, Slipknot, Limp Bizkit in their original formation, Marilyn Manson, Korn and Machine Head have also confirmed that they will be taking part. Jan Delay & Disko No. 1, MIA., the sensationally reunited Selig and Guano Apes, whose comeback has also attracted much attention, make up part of the strong contingent from the German rock scene. Newly confirmed bands such as Madness, Phoenix or Chris Cornell are among the other highlights of the 70 bands who have already confirmed for Ring and Park. Festival fans can expect more than 100 hours of the best of modern rock on three stages.

Germany’s top Music Festival have confirmed the first batch of bands to play in 2009. Rock am Ring and Rock im Park takes place between 5th to 7th June 2009.

Rock am Ring organiser have advised that 20,000 tickets have already being sold before they have even announced any of the line up. The 25 year old festival goes from strength to strength.

There will again be 3 stages at 2009 Rock am ring festival, the first headliners confirmed are Las Vegas rockers The Killers who are at the top of their game at the moment their latest Day & Age has topped the charts around the world. Other headliners include Placebo and Slipknot.
Other bands confirmed in the first batch include Canadian punk rocker Billy Talent. The Rock am Ring Festival maintains its truely global reach with top swedish indie acts including Mando Diao and the loveable and hugely popular The Subways.
Also playing are Volbeat and an exclusive appearance by Killswitch Engage.

As well as the huge global acts, top German Acts are of course also well represented including
Peter Fox, the front man of Seeed, the radio superstar Jan Delay & Disko No.1 and Kettcar Arctic Circle 18, and Tomte Kilians Park Square, who will all showcase the great stuff coming from the german rock music scene.
In total over 80 bands will play the festival so watch out for more acts to be confirmed during the year.

Last year Rock am Ring sold out in advance with a record 150,000 attending rock am ring and rock im park. We therefore recommend you get your tickets early.

The Rock am Ring Festival is one of Europe’s Largest Music Festivals. The Rock am Ring and its sister event Rock im Park take place over the same weekend in Germany.
Rock am Ring is hosted at the Nürburgring motor racing track in the west of Germany. The Rock im Park event takes place near the Frankenstadion in Nürnberg which is in the South East of Germany.

The German Red Cross have service points around the festivalsite.

Fire

It is absolutely forbidden to start fires
The security forces on the campsites should be informed immediately if a fire breaks out somewhere, even if it appears to be under control.

Radio Festival

SWR3 will provide visitors with traffic news on FM 87.7 SW£ Rock am Ring Radio. The Rock am Ring Radio Stations starts from Thursday, 05.06.2008, 14:00 clock open Monday, 09.06.2008, 15:00 clock.

ATMs

Cash Machines can be found on the federal hightway 258th. There is a cash machine on site at “Box 30” it is sign posted.

To Camp together – Arrive Together.

To be able to park your cars and camp with members of the same group you will need to arrive at the same time.

Drink on Festival Site.

You are allowed up to 1 litre of drink into the festival site contained in a Tetra Pack. Glass and Cans are not allowed into the arena. There is free drinking water points around the festival arena site.

Information Points

There are many information points around the festival site to provide information to both german and foreign visitors.

Children

Children under 8 are not allowed to the festival, children between 8 –16 must be accompanied by parent or guardian.

Cooking on the campsites

Gas cookers are allowed on the camp site but extreme caution must be taken.

Car Sharing.

It is recommended to share cars to reduce traffic to the festival.

Earplugs
An open-air festival is a noisy event. To protect against too much volume are earplugs at each merchandising stand in the interior area and the ancillary services.

Public transport

There are bus services running from Koblenz station to the Nurburgring festival site.

Sanitary stations
On the following sites there are stations with wassergespülten sanitary toilets and showers: A2/A5, A7, B2a, B5, B9, C2/C3, D5, D6 and D9 and D10 on the plot (handicap equipment). In addition, the users at all land mobile toilets and drinking water are available.

Security

The parking lots are around the clock by the police service care. To ensure the security of the campsites will take care of its own police service, in conjunction with the police. In case of problems, the security forces immediately be addressed.

Sound and video recordings on the festival grounds are prohibited.
