here is just a little fact for the sake of it. if you think the numbers and letters in the names of guns are just jibberish then think again. ex. an94 is a russian assault rifle. an94 stands for automatic nikonov 1994 pattern. nikonov is the designer of the gun. the modern m14 is called M14 0-EBR/DMR. it stands for mark 14 mod 0 enhanced battle rifle/ designated marksman rifle.

hello guys... it has been 29 days and no one has replyed.
11 Nov, 2010 @ 2:54am
A drone will never be as capable, adaptable, resourceful, and most importantly approachable by the local civilians as a human. After all when things go bad you can never get enough help from the locals.
5 Nov, 2010 @ 4:49pm
We will always forget the bloodshed. Most are only horrified by war after experiancing it firsthand.
5 Nov, 2010 @ 1:11pm
yea we are do for another world war unfortunately. when is yet to be determined but current global events arnt looking good. iran and isreils bickering is forcing the US and russia to take sides. we back isreil and russia iran sooner or later one of them will get confident enough to attack one another leaving russia and the US to protect its allies. we all know we will drag our allies (same with russia) in aswell causing a global conflict. the events are happening now and the US and russia are both trying to stop it but we will see what happens.

I disagree, right we live in a relatively peaceful area, with one superpower maintaining it (US BABY XD). Soon er or later we will go into an era of warfare (such as the period during the 2 world wars), but the average citizen will be horrified with the amount of bloodshed. The only solution? Un-manned drones/robots directed by a human (maybe a computer) behind the lines.
30 Oct, 2010 @ 8:03am
I think so aswell Michael, the backbone of a military will always be a human not a drone.
30 Oct, 2010 @ 6:15am
No matter what though the most powerful weapons in war will still remain strategy, stealth and initiative no drone will have the ability to fully utilise these aspects and as such will never match up to highly trained soldiers even if you have pilots controlling them. I think we should focus on the individual man and how to keep him alive and effective rather than try to keep him away from the action where he can do the most good.
20 Oct, 2010 @ 8:32am
Shoot, I think a human operator should be used for the forseeable future, except in total war in an area with no friendlies. Drones have been used since the '70s as training targets for fighter pilots. I really think that the i.e.d. disposal bots are essential. The hajis have a bad shot, most of our casualties are from i.e.d.s and friendly fire. I'll depend on drones for air support and bomb disposal as well as recon. I wouldn't really want to depend on armor or a remote controled lmg in the field, it's a big hassle. As of now, troop level (smaller than vehicle drones, hinder movement, because you have to lug the darn thing around most of the time; it doesn't just follow you in the field like Star Wars or something).
18 Oct, 2010 @ 6:08pm
I mean't human controlled drones of course. Drones are used to try and have as less casualities as possible, but I do believe that civilian casualties can increase while the casualties of fighters decrease. In my opinion, in the future drones will do the dirty work, while we humans are a security force aswell as enemy occupant. Nevertheless warfare against another human will continue.
18 Oct, 2010 @ 1:36pm
do you feel that civilian casualties will be minimized or increased be large scale drone warfare? in my opinion a human oporater should call the order to engage or hold fire rather than let a robot that relies on programming to dictate its actions to call the shots. problems could occure otherwise.
17 Oct, 2010 @ 7:28pm
I believe the use of Drones will shape the future of warfare, I do believe it should be allowed since less lives can be lost, but the real backbone of warfare is man against man, not robot against robot.
17 Oct, 2010 @ 12:16pm
a question to get you thinking. the use of combat drones such as in air and land is something that has become wide spread in armed forces around the world and more so in the US. do you believe the use of drones in war should be allowed? give your opinion on why or why not.
16 Oct, 2010 @ 7:25pm
