Big thanks to everyone who showed up for race 1. The Server was having problems and the event ended up running late. There will be no delays this week. We are expecting a few more drivers so it will be a good turn out if all the regulars can make it. Last week we had a great clean race together, lets keep it going. Remember we got one pitstop to make before the race is over ;)

First League Race on Assetto Corsa Thursday 28th July

Our First Race will be at Silverstone gp. Cars are GT3 and Restricted to Base Game cars and red pack only, this is just for the first race, mods will hold a meeting to confirm all setting so bear with us for this race.

Ceolmor Blunts the Edge of Philipjip's Championship

Thursday saw Phlipjip crowned champion of Project Race's League 3 Formula C race series. Unfortunately this wasn't contested by Supersilvers the only racer of the league who could have mathematically challenged him. Nonetheless we had a great race won by Ceolmor with great pace and possibly the best skill in adapting to the difficult wet conditions at Spa Francorcamps. He seemed to make the fewest errors so consequently stayed on track where his colleagues slid off ad nauseum.

Ceolmor had qualified in pole with a time of 2:19:013 over 2 seconds ahead of Philipjip, but it was Nukey who took the lead into Turn 2 before Ceolmor powered through. Nukey then came off on the Kemmel Straight after contact from behind from third placed Philipjip taking his rear right wheel off which ended his participation.

By lap 4 the gap between P1 and 2 was 10.8 seconds with Prometheus not too far behind by another 5 seconds. When Ceolmor pitted around lap 5 Philipjip temporarily took the lead.

Over the ensuing laps Adder and Crunchie exhanged P6 and P7 several times while Blunt and Philipjip did the same with P2 and P3 with Prometheus challenging for P3 during the mandatory stops. Fortunately (or unfortunately) most of the excursions off the track didn't lead to many position changes as most the challengers were too far back to take advantage of the errors.

By the last of the 12 laps Ceolmor had a 21 second advantage over Blunt but he had already taken the fastest lap of the race. Philipjip finished 3rd which was more than enough to secure him the title. Well done and congratulatons to him! another 9 seconds back was Prometheus. Adder and Crunchie were half a lap back.

All told it has been an interesting League using a great car and some great tracks and it has been good to see some new faces around the paddock. It was a pity at the end that Supersilvers could not make the race and had to work . It was also great to see Ceolmor finally get the reward that his speed in earlier races heralded.

It would be really great if as many people who have raced with us this Season could join in for the last race. It's at Spa and it's wet. Ever known a spa that was dry? Practice is from 19:00 UTC.

Who will win? Who will take the championship? All this and more will be answered!

Supersilvers Hands Victory To Chromehorne

Supersilvers' last lap splash and dash gave Chromehorne (Madmax) the win at Sakitto last Thursday in Race 7 of the group's Formula C League. Again the leaders showed pace head and shoulders above the rest of the field and either could have taken the victory!

There was first corner confusion as a couple of cars touched at the right-hander with Crunchie and Prometheus trying to gain the upperhand at the expense of Philipjip pinned by said drivers. Crunchie held P3 until lap 3 when there was contact of wheels with Prometheus allowing Philipjip through. Adder and Prometheus had a similar meeting on lap 5 in the same section leading to the underpass with Adder, like Crunchie, coming off the circuit!

All of this had no bearing on the front with the two pacesetters in their own race. After the mandatory stops it was Supersilver's race but whether due to miscalculation or technical problems he found himself low on fuel and having to make a last lap stop. Chromehorne was well placed to take the flag and the fastest lap with 1:32.356.

Adder and Prometheus were sparring for 4th place with ultimately Adder taking it when Prometheus hit the wall of the underpass and having to hobble to the pits. Chancing his arm with fuel Crunchie gambled on his pitstop strategy but ran out on lap 12. Nukey went AWOL.

There are only 2 potential league winners now with Philipjip on 81 and Supersilvers on 73 points. Last race heads back to Belgium (don't mention the vote or the football!) with a very wet Spa in prospect.
