Dark poetry time

My Depression

My depression has me in
A heavy ball and chain;
I can hardly move an inch anywhere,
Without feeling the hidden
Aching pain.

My depression hides my joy
It keeps it locked up tight;
I try to show my friends and family
I'm happy on the outside...
But I'm crying out for help,
Wanting to see the light.

My depression steals my smile
Even trying to do so hurts;
I of't wonder if just faking one,
Is all it's worth.

My depression breaks my heart
Causing it to bleed tears of sorrow;
I cannot feel anything within,
No more hope for a brighter tomorrow.

My depression makes me feel numb
I stay inside my room wishing
It would all end;
My depression has me contemplating
Suicide,
Thinking if I just end it all myself,
I'd no longer feel this heartbreak
Ever again.

My depression's got me broken
My spirit's broken in two;
Yes, I know things will soon
Get better, I've heard it all,
But alas, there's nothing more
That I can do.
