Maine falls to the Continental Army!

From March 12th to March 21st, 1776. Falmouth. Maine, and more importantly, its small ammunition depot was besieged by the Continentals. The siege started in the favor of the British, with storms and cannonballs diminishing the Patriots morale, it seemed the same disaster that happened on the October of 1775 was about to happen.

It was, on March 13th just then that the British cavalry charged out to attack the Patriots, that they got soundly defeated. After the humiliating charge, the Briitsh defenders suffered an even worse defeat as their 75 grenadiers marched out to flank the Patriots the next day, only to march to their deaths.

The British eventually surrendered on March 21st, on the condition that the 335 remaining British be allowed to retreat Maine unmolested, and that the 12 prisoners the Continentals captured be released. Maine is now under Continental control, although the Patriots will have to begin the long task of occupying and putting down any Loyalist rebellions.

Grenadier Flanking: (Decisive Continental Victory)
53 British grenadiers killed, 10 wounded, 12 surrendered.
21 Patriot soldiers killed, 8 wounded.

Falmouth itself fell without any resistance or casualties.
