Generally, I think the important thing to remember that the party only possesses a few guns which are limited in how many directions they can fire. The combat relies a lot more on position & tactics than the regular 'feet on the ground' combat.

Also, it helps to have a bigger board when you do space combat since the characters may try to cut & run and it hurts to run out of space!

Again, my replies appear to be far too late. Wolfpack3602, this group is sorta tied to TTS, but is meant moreso as a way for people to find a group to play RPG's with. It hasn't amounted to much, but if you are looking for a group to play with I hope it is useful to you.

Kevin,.daisch the ship combat rules in rouge trader are quite odd, and something I never got a handle on, but from my understanding your ship moves every turn, and each member of the party uses their own skills to try and either modify the ships movement or direct the crew to undertake tasks. What specifically were you looking for advice on? Was it an question of mechanics, running ship combat or balance?

Sorry not to reply earlier Wraith, I have been busy.
The dream when this group was created was to create a hub for people to plan out/recruit for 40k rpg games.
The Dark Heresy game I was running has since concluded, sorta died out from difficulties with scheduling and general difficulties in the story (I was juggling way to many subplots, and I think it showed).
In terms of this group (which isn't meant to be for any one group or game system within the 40k RPG family), I guess it never really got 'active'. I kept hoping for people to use it to recruit or look for games. But it has been largely silent.

This would require a substantial amount of homebrew but I would say as equipment and have the characters be the pilots alowing for meetings between the Impirial knight and indivisuals face to face.

I see, so then would you homebrew the options for the titan itself? Would players treat the titan as their character or as equipment?

Best way to deal with it would be to present both options along with the other options in a regiment/character creation session.

Interesting question. I'd say depends on the GM, I would use the rogue Trader/Tank regiment if I wanted the players to focuse on team work and working as one and individual titans for games set around conflic and politics.

So would the party collectively crew a Titan (a la Rouge Trader/Tank regiments in only war) or would each party member get a titan (like Sentinel walker regiments)?

Well I myself have never done this sort of thing which is why I asked, I just thought it was a fun idea.
