IGN posted one hell of an article on All-Stars a few days ago all about the development of the game, the state of the fighting game genre and where the game fits inside that genre.

Main man Omar Kendall discusses the SSB comparison issue, telling us that they were advised to "‘try to downplay the comparisons.’” He however, thought this to be "absurd that the team would be requested to downplay any comparisons to Nintendo’s Super Smash Bros., considering how keenly aware they were of of its influence. But they were also surprised at the vitriolic nature of the feedback. 'It never occurred to us that we were being offensive to people. We just like video games, and we wanted to make something that’s fun.'”

All-Stars is a celebration of PlayStation after all, and so the game hopes to reach out to not just fighting game enthusiasts, but fans of each individual IP featured n the game.

When asked which characters were most difficult to implement, Kendall explains, "the ones we're developing at the same time as their creators are." ie; Raiden (Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance) and Dante (DmC).

Omar Kendall can be found in quite an extensive video interview with Gamespot where he talks about many things and answers many questions for us!

Main points to take from the video:

**Launch line up is now CONFIRMED as the 20 we know to date**

**ALL characters are available from initial start up, you don't unlock them as you progress through the game**

**SUPERBOT KNOW we want CRASH, SUPERBOT WANT CRASH, but "it take's two to tango" and "it's not free...", which means that they are trying to get him in and realise how important Crash Bandicoot is to PlayStation, but there are difficulties in negotiating with the IP holders...**

**IF there is enough support AFTER the game has launched, they will aim to add to the roster with DLC**

While many of us have been waiting to hear more character related news, such as Kat from Gravity Rush, Snake from Metal Gear and of course Crash Bandicoot, SONY have now confirmed that the currently known roster of 20 is indeed the full launch list of characters...

No more characters on disc...

We cannot give up hope however, as DLC characters haven't been removed from the equation, and I should remind you that in reference to Crash Bandicoot Omar has previously stated that whether he comes before or after launch, he wouldn't be paid for. So they may have some ideas for DLC characters already.
