Its been a while since I have thought about BP. It was pretty fun for a while. I played in Beta and at launch was part of the group (I forget the guild/clan/corp name) that took over Sedna and the neighboring system.

So speaking of being good at research... I couldn't really find a super definitive answer pertaining to this exact situation so I'll just fire it out here, the one question that really matters: Is it possible to use this Open Source Beyond Protocol code Commercially? If yes, I am virtually positive it can be done.

Hello! I recognize many of these names from times now long since passed! I can't remember the game name I used. Vizion? Validus? I've used many over the years. I was, for a time, one of the leaders in the Qua'Sha Conclave alongside Infinitymoo & the other dude whose name I can't remember for the life of me. I called myself a Diplomat and spent probably more time talking to all of you than actually playing the game, aha.
I am decent at researching, organizing, and in general putting things together. Things are going really well for me IRL and I definitely have the time and energy. The real problem is I cannot imagine finding and convincing people to work on a project with zero chance of ever getting paid for their hard work.

we all know after protocol exists (atleast, i think we all do right? its where i let people know this group exists). hes stated he doesnt have time to work on afterprotocol, and many of the old BP players just dont like playing BP anymore because its kinda broken and needs to be *fixed* and has been needing to be fixed since beta. we know it exists, its just bad, like the original. Megatron had a quote for it.... (addendum: sirP did a lot of bugfixes and improvements on afterprotocol, and we do apreacate it, but there is only so much plugging you can do on a sinking ship)

i can't beleive no one has mentioned After Protocol? I havent been on in a while its still operating. I thought SirP was hosting it I can't believe he didnt mention it since hes a member of this group. You miss beyond protocol and cant find a game like it? Thats cuase one dont exist and likely wont ever but the code was released and After Protocol has been up and running for several years now. I know at least four of the people in this group are on it. Why no mentions?

yeah havoc ive looked into it, but making a "new" BP would take years of effort and time, not to mention balancing issues. unless we somehow get a couple million and a design studio staff, we will just have to accept poor subsittues.

Good to see old names! I have to agree with Leadcask though, all games since BP are meaningless... I play thinking, "This would be so much better if it was BP"...

Sir Paradox would agree he's been searching for a game to play on steam too and is just bored. Beyond Protocol Made all other games f'n boring... Good news. i'm more productive than ever.

I'm still around not interested in playing anything though. Beyond protocol ruined all games for me. It was too perfect!
