ROPZ NEARS FAZE MOVE - REPORT

Robin "⁠ropz⁠" Kool and FaZe are reportedly close to inking a blockbuster transfer ahead of the 2022 season.

ropz is close to finalizing a move to FaZe, according to a report by 1pv.fr and Dexerto. Previous rumors had said that the Estonian had been contemplating a move to one of FaZe or G2, and it appears that he has now made his choice.

Although ropz's current contract with MOUZ doesn't run out until later in the first quarter of 2022, the report states that the German organization and FaZe are undergoing talks over an earlier transfer, which should be inked during the winter off-season.

Meanwhile, MOUZ are reportedly considering promoting one or more of the members from two-time WePlay Academy League champions MOUZ NXT.

FaZe could be getting a big boost in firepower soon
Should the deal be finalized, the Estonian lurker would replace Olof "⁠olofmeister⁠" Kajbjer on the roster, marking an end to the Swede's long tenure with FaZe dating back to mid-2017. The 29-year-old veteran has been in and out of the team for the past three years as he repeatedly took time off from competing, with the latest stint lasting for six months.

A three-time top 20 player and a top 10 player of 2019 and 2020, ropz has been tipped to make a move to a bigger team for some time now. FaZe has always been at the forefront of candidates for his new home, not just due to their historic standing but also the connection to Finn "⁠karrigan⁠" Andersen, who played alongside the 21-year-old star in MOUZ for two years in 2019-2021.

Karrigan Returns to FaZe

The Danish in-game leader completes FaZe's roster ahead of IEM Katowice.

Finn "⁠karrigan⁠" Andersen has joined FaZe, the organization has announced on Monday, finalizing the long-speculated move and completing the European roster following Olof "⁠olofmeister⁠" Kajbjer's departure.

The Dane returns to the team he led from 2016-2018 and helped reach the world's #1 rank, winning seven big events in the process.

With this move, karrigan will reunite with Håvard "⁠rain⁠" Nygaard, the only player left from the FaZe team he was in charge of for two years, as well as Robert "⁠RobbaN⁠" Dahlström, who is expected to return to the coaching position upon the expiry of his ESIC-issued ban.

karrigan will have his debut shortly, in IEM Katowice 2021, where FaZe are one of the eight teams who have ensured a spot in the main part of the tournament. The European squad has shown promise in their first tournament with Russel "⁠Twistzz⁠" Van Dulken, placing second in their BLAST Premier Spring Group, and will be hoping to continue with that momentum moving forward.

NEO joins FaZe

"FaZe have completed the addition of Filip "NEO" Kubski to their roster, which sees Dauren "AdreN" Kystaubayev depart, the organization has announced on social media.

The announcement states that NEO is taking on a role of a substitute, but upon further clarification, Nikola "NiKo" Kovač confirmed to HLTV.org that the Pole is currently undergoing a trial period in the European squad.

The veteran will also take on in-game leadership within the team, a role FaZe had been looking to fill ever since the departure of Finn "karrigan" Andersen at the end of 2018, which saw NiKo take over the duties for the following six-month period.
NEO returns to activity after a six-month break from competition, which started upon his release from Virtus.pro in December. His online debut with FaZe will be up against his former team in ECS Season 7 Week 4, and his first LAN event with the new team is set to be DreamHack Masters Dallas, kicking off on May 28.

With the change, the team are saying goodbye to AdreN, who had been signed at the beginning of 2019 for a period that was originally supposed to last until the end of the IEM Katowice Major, but the Kazakh ended up extending his stay for two more months as FaZe were looking for the right fit in the IGL position.

The European side had mixed results with the 29-year-old, grabbing two titles at ELEAGUE Invitational and BLAST Pro Series Miami and finishing outside of the playoffs at tournaments such as StarSeries i-League Season 7 and IEM Sydney." - HLTV
