Could you guys change the description back? Seriously. I want to support the whole 'FESTIVE WINTER KEYS ARE CRAP' thing, but I kinda don't feel comfortable with the stuff in the fake description and clantag connected to me. :P

The Ecliptican 28 Dec, 2010 @ 3:19pm

We officially have enough members to consider ourselves a byte. That is, if you count me as #0 and the current 256th member as #255. Whoo hoo! </nerd>

It certainly isn't practical for the person wishing to gain matieral possessions from a protest against the actions of a company. Rather, the nature of the cause is heightened by the fact that we are giving up material possessions in order to execute this protest. Hunger strikes were not favorable to those who did them, but the results were simple to see. Inflicting loss on one's self is a surer sign of commitment than anything else, and certainly a surer sign then just complaining.

frankly wat they did was dickish....but this group wont help your cause to speak up against it and trading for more of these crates so u dont unlock them doesnt help...only hurts u pockets making u lose items in the end after they r gone...kinda a good idea of paper....by the end its not practical...please dont invite me here again :D and gl on your endevours
Dr. Coco 23 Dec, 2010 @ 12:33pm
Valve has totally forgot what christmas is about! I guess everyone got happy first when they saw the festive crates and thought that Valve's pleasure was enough for give us free keys for one second! But the cake was a lie and they fall in shame! Valve doesn't care about Christmas just they get the money and all is good. Sometimes I really hate Valve.
Phonox Classic 23 Dec, 2010 @ 7:56am
Yep, Valve gave everyone a free key.
chud^ 23 Dec, 2010 @ 7:56am
Got a free key as a random drop from Valve :D got salmon paint unboxed tho :(
[ĜĞ] SEABASS 23 Dec, 2010 @ 7:37am
I was dissapointed but I've still purchased $40 worth of festive keys xD

Love hate relationship with valve
Enriq 23 Dec, 2010 @ 5:12am
Atleast there is a double drop rate this week.
Enriq 23 Dec, 2010 @ 5:00am
cool story bro
-Toki- 20 Dec, 2010 @ 10:03pm
The fact they made no discloser about what was going on. Whether we would need keys, or it was for charity, whatever, lead people to think they were christmas gifts. Had they put the update out prior to crates dropping I wouldn't of had an issue, i would of deleted them with all the other crates. But the fact that I felt like we were getting a christmas presents then told i had to cough up money to open it just Pisses me off. I know I know, "Blah blah blah free stuff, blah blah blah" Bring your boss present and tell him he has to pay you 5 bucks to open and see how he reacts

Wow Rezz, your argument is more flawed than those sputtered on the SPUF. (Yes, that was fun to type.) There was zero mention of it going to charity, and not many companies would do that - where'd you even get that idea? MMOs charge either to play or for bonuses - the latter being microtransactions, which is what the TF2 store employs. Valve is doing that and that is fine, of course. You seem to lack a basic understanding of what this group is about. It's about a specific mindset during the holiday time that we don't want to see Valve adopting.
Phaze 20 Dec, 2010 @ 12:25pm
The counter-arguments from Festive Crate supporters here are rather pitiable.
chemtrails 20 Dec, 2010 @ 11:58am
If it is gonna go to charity, why didn't Valve say that when the key came out?
SuperWhoLockian Ethnostate 20 Dec, 2010 @ 9:02am
And I bet Valve is going to donate like, all of the money to charity. Why not instead of boycotting christmas keys start up a petition for the money to go to good causes?
SuperWhoLockian Ethnostate 19 Dec, 2010 @ 7:15pm
Valve just wants to be like other companies. Doesn't WoW and a bunch of other dime-a-dozen MMOs do the same thing? They make MILLIONS off of peoples interests and tastes. Why can't Valve?
dum birb 19 Dec, 2010 @ 7:12pm
That is a woefully ignorant thing to say. Have you any idea how much money the store has made with these miscellaneous items? We're just saying to stop the sale of a single, limited-use and limited-time item. If that would cripple Valve and run them out of business, then I fear for their stability come January 1st, 2011.
Johnny Toast Beef 19 Dec, 2010 @ 6:27pm
Yeah! Lets get everything for free! Scew valve and their familes, its not like they need any money.
dum birb 18 Dec, 2010 @ 2:54pm
Just a reminder to everyone: We protest because we love - We care about Valve and want them to realize what is right and wrong for the community. Never hate someone for a mistake; Give that someone chance to redeem themselves. In our protest, we show affection as well as dissent.
King of Elf 18 Dec, 2010 @ 12:55pm
Anyone else going to switch to MNC? (Monday night combat)
chemtrails 18 Dec, 2010 @ 12:39pm
And then there were three.
soaf 18 Dec, 2010 @ 11:07am
It's the season of giving... all your monny to Valve! :DDD
chemtrails 18 Dec, 2010 @ 10:36am
Furries can spread this like fleas, you know.
dum birb 18 Dec, 2010 @ 8:31am
70 members. Judging by the theory of exponential growth (if everyone plays their part), we should have no trouble finding tons of new people now. Math!~
Warden Frostwater 18 Dec, 2010 @ 3:42am
I wanted festive keys to be a drop similar to the Halloween Event. BUT WHY MANN CO. STORE? DAMN IT.
chemtrails 17 Dec, 2010 @ 7:31pm
i must resist saying something that is true.
