A new update came out that added a bunch of cosmetics, fixed a bunch of bugs, re-balanced combat a little bit, and a whole lot of a bunch of small, well deserved changes.

The most important part of this update is that there are NO MORE WIPES! So you can play as much as you want and your character and worlds have no chance of being wiped with future patches! You're free to invest more time.

A huge update is coming today or tomorrow that will change a whole lot for the better. Overall it will make the game more fun, easier to progress, and less trash loot! When it hits, we'll all be starting new characters because our old ones will be a bit messed up from the changes.

Feel free to place cosmetic items in a chest on your home planet to retrieve them with your new character!

Tiyuri, the lead developer for Starbound, has posted saying Starbound will (probably) go into beta on December 4th, next Wednesday. This is tentative! But recent activity behind the scenes in Steam support this.

Basically, get ready for awesomeness, and make sure to check this group often for news!

If anything changes I'll post here. I'll also stick the server information up here too.

Keep in mind that this is still only phase 1 of the beta. It will have bugs, it'll be a little messy, but we're still going to play. Phase 1 only covers the sandbox part of the game. Phase 2 will work on the storyline, and Phase 3 will be like a release candidate; it'll be all polished and they'll focus on finishing it up to be perfect.
