Up-coming suggestions/changes to the server

Right now we've got a pretty good selection of mods that work really well together.

I'd like to list a few of the changes seen implemented over the past two weeks.

- Monument Radiation -

Added radiation zones to all monuments & buildings

- Demolish Refund -

Using the build hammer you can now demolish and refund any structures you place (incl. external walls). We will be phasing out the /remove function as it will no longer serve a purpose.

- Loot distrubution -

Tweaks to the loot system have been implemented making weapons & c4 a lot rarer.

- Info Panel -

/info will now provide the players will a usefull help screen with server commands & updates regarding the server.

** I have been toying with the idea of removing the teleport function from the server. I feel this would be a welcoming change for some and not so much for others.

I am open for suggestions in regards to this.

- The Peoples Rust Vanilla+ -

I have recently opened a vanilla server with a x3 gather & loot modification. You can connect via 45.121.211.113:49965 or search in the modded section.

Roofcampers Rejoice and Update news

- 4x Zoom Scope

The newest addition to weapon mods is here: A 4x zoom scope! Like other attachments, it can be added to any weapon with available mod slots (but can't be used at the same time as the holosight, duh). Costing 25 high quality metal, it is the most expensive - and arguably most useful - weapon mod to date.

- Building frames

All the new building blocks require a frame to be placed. Found on the building plan, frames can be upgraded just like walls, doorways, and windows.

- Double doors

Like the doors you currently use, times two! That’s right, double doors are here and your days of bumping bodies while getting back in your base are over. Like single doors, these are crafted through the construction menu.

- Chain links

A new way to define your property is here: Chainlink fences. This wall and gate combination allows you to segment your compound, secure a quarry, or just trap random sleepers. However, given it costs more, doesn’t block ladders, and is less resilient than exterior walls, it needs some significant balance before being more than a novelty.

- Prison cells

Prison architects of Rust rejoice - cells are here! Like fences, a prison cell has two parts: cell walls and cell gates. Also, like its chainlinked sibling, it's probably more a novelty than function at this point. That said, I think it's a perfect addition to Rust. Oh, and the slide action of the cell gate is sweet!

- Shop front

Ever start a store in Rust but have trouble passing items without someone sneaking in a stealing your shit? Worry no more, the shop front is here. With a friendly half door and convenient window (with ledge), shop keeps will be able to dispense goods without having to worry about pesky robbers jumping through their window.

We got dungeons, bitch!

It is update day and dungeons are here! As with all first updates of the month, a map wipe will be forced.

The Basics

Dungeon is the new rad town - loot crates, enterable buildings, underground tunnel systems, research/repair benches - you’ll even find the occasional pump jack. Keep in mind, they are still a work in progress; most textures are missing, they aren't optimized, they don't always align with the surrounding landscape, animals don’t adhere to the rules of gravity, etc, etc... I don’t care, these dungeons are fucking awesome!

Before specifics, let's cover the basics:

There are a total of 5 new dungeons (some big, some small).

Most placeholder rad towns (like school bus and apartments) are gone.
The satellite (which has been revamped), airfield, and the big sphere still exist.

Like other points of interest, building is blocked in the general vicinity of dungeons.

- Water treatment plant

We start with the biggest. Take 9 water pumps, 5 buildings, 3 tanks, and a couple canals. Mix it with a complex underground system of tunnels, then throw in a sniper's nest and a pump jack to boot. Now you’ve got yourself the water treatment plant.

- Train yard

It is smaller than the treatment plant, but does still have a sniper's nest and a pump jack. With many different forms of ingress (including an underground tunnel), several buildings to explore, and tricky pipe walking required to get at certain loot, the train yard is destined to host some intense action.

- Power plant

Distinguished by its two large smokestacks, the power plant provides a great mix of buildings, tunnels, and loot. No pump jack or sniper's nest, but you can get into each smokestack to find some nice swag.

- Military tunnel

Just off the road you see raised red pipes and train tracks. The rails merge and guide you into a large tunnel with an immediate T intersection. In front of you, a door leads down a hallway, which opens to a wide room with a window, which looks upon a larger room only accessible through a roundabout hallway to your left.

Sound confusing? That’s the point. The military tunnel is a large corridor with 3 doorways; each of which lead to one or several rooms with loot crates and a bunch of blind spots. This should make for some interesting skirmishes...

- Canyon

Last, we have the canyon. It features one shack, several exterior pipes, a cylindrical tank (the new one from the treatment plant), a rock cave, and a series of underground tunnels / rooms. Although it might seem small from the outside, the underground section is deceptively large.

- Dish shifts

In addition to the new dungeons, our oldest of monuments has received a makeover. The satellite dish now has some decrepit compadres. Best of all, there’s more loot spawns!

Other things

This update isn't just dungeons; here's some other changes coming this update:

The layout of the options menu improved (including key binds!)
Melee range has been increased
Eoka is no longer useless
Bug fixes around reloading (and made more responsive)
Tweaks to a bunch of sounds
Many other bug fixes (see devblog)

New landmarks - New radowns & more to come in tomorrows update!

This should add a new dynamic to PVP, raiding, defending, and resources as well as blueprint farming. Very large compounds have been incorporated into Rust, and this video shows them off

https://youtu.be/tExKrutZXLY

+ new input options!!

http://imgur.com/tIhAo7h

Introducing AntiOfflineRaid

A new addition to the main pvp server. Below is a rundown and look at how things work.

AntiOfflineRaid is a structure-related plugin that reduces the amount of damage to player structures by a percentage. The percentage decreases as time passes.

There is a cooldown of 15 minutes before damage reductions will apply. Meaning players may not necessarily prevent a raid by going offline.

Going afk for more than 5 minutes is the same as going offline.

A closer look at percentages/time offline.

First 15 minutes offline - 100% damage
Between 15 and 60 minutes offline - 0% damage
Between 1 and 3 hours offline - 20% damage
Between 3 and 6 hours offline - 35% damage
Between 6 and 12 hours offline - 50% damage
Between 12 and 48 hours offline - 80% damage
After 48 hours offline - 100% damage

This will be in trail til decided otherwise. Feedback is welcome.
