BE CAREFUL - RESURFACING OF OLD EXPLOIT - PLEASE READ

An old exploit resurfaced apparently, the information thats posted within the body of the OP's post is very close to that of one that happened a while ago.

http://www.reddit.com/r/GlobalOffensiveTrade/comments/2ibga1/psa_accepting_friend_items_gone_exploit_is_back/

Plesae take just a moment to read that. Could be the difference of your whole inventory.

Thanks,
Management

TL:DR - DONT ACCEPT RANDOM FUCKING ADDS

StatTrak Factory New Crimson Web Karambit!

Hey guys,

The unheard of finally happened! The Stat FN CW Karambit was finally unboxed!!!!

Want to bring up a few things with this event.

If anybody knows the kid, you really should try to get him intouch with the proper people so he can sell that knife legitly. His spurt of good luck shouldnt be shat on because of some bastard kid in his mother's basement who wants to go fuck someone over. The knife is worth a lot of money and is going to be talked about for a while. Its not going to be a cake walk to get the 5 Digit's that knife is worth, however you'll definitely be able to with the right help. First and foremost, DO NOT TRADE THAT KNIFE IMMEDIATELY. Sit on it for a bit, the respectful traders out their who are able to pay that kind of money wouldnt rush you into something, they'd want you tbe completely comfortable in the transaction. Also make sure you're talking with who you say you're talking with ( watch for impersonators). Also, i'd really recommend a bank transfer that or some fool proof way of getting your money, I think this is out of the league of paypal to be honest.

The kid has low play time from what I've heard, if its not a smurf or even if it is and he doesnt have the trading experience that most of us do. Its our job as respectable trader's to make sure we get the kid the help that he needs on that knife. I know a lot of you think its funny posting offers of $15 guns and shit like that, however I've seen it enough in the past where inexperienced people fall for things like that. When they finally learn the mistake they made, it leave's an awful taste in their mouth for a game that they once loved. Nobody would want someone to ruin CS for them, i hope yall wouldnt want to do the same for someone else.

Not only in the case of this knife, but with any other trade's that you do within Steam. Your reputation is worth more than anything you could ever trade for. You'll make a lot more in the long run off your own name than you will scamming someone once or twice. Ethics needs to find its proper place within CSGO! Lets hope we can show people the right way!

If the unboxer by chance reads this, personally i'd hope you get the help on it that you probably need. That knife is worth a lot and you could safely turn it into the cash that its worth with just a little bit of help from someone.

Make sure all +Rep Comments are accurate!

When leaving rep on a rep thread, make your comment as accurate as possible. Please leave the amount of keys/items that have been traded, as well as who went first.

I am currently going through reputation threads purging comments that are too ambiguous or unnecessary. Hopefully I'll catch some fake rep on the way.

Thanks for cooperating! Happy Holidays!

Love,

The Community Middleman Staff!

In-Game Item Trading Update

Announcement	- Valve 13 Jul
http://store.steampowered.com/news/22883

In 2011, we added a feature to Steam that enabled users to trade in-game items as a way to make it easier for people to get the items they wanted in games featuring in-game economies.

Since then a number of gambling sites started leveraging the Steam trading system, and there’s been some false assumptions about our involvement with these sites. We’d like to clarify that we have no business relationships with any of these sites. We have never received any revenue from them. And Steam does not have a system for turning in-game items into real world currency.

These sites have basically pieced together their operations in a two-part fashion. First, they are using the OpenID API as a way for users to prove ownership of their Steam accounts and items. Any other information they obtain about a user's Steam account is either manually disclosed by the user or obtained from the user’s Steam Community profile (when the user has chosen to make their profile public). Second, they create automated Steam accounts that make the same web calls as individual Steam users.

Using the OpenID API and making the same web calls as Steam users to run a gambling business is not allowed by our API nor our user agreements. We are going to start sending notices to these sites requesting they cease operations through Steam, and further pursue the matter as necessary. Users should probably consider this information as they manage their in-game item inventory and trade activity.

-Erik Johnson
