90 is default and it sucks hard, set it to 65 or so...

To get a 90 fov right click the game from the library. Got to properties. Then set launch options. Put this in there, -fov 90. If you dont belive me take a referance point and line up crosshairs on something and see where screen ends. Then put that line in and use same referance for crosshair. You will see out farther.

Hhmm, I didn't know this group existed until now. I see Valve finally included an option to change the FOV. It surprises me that so little PC gamers have complained about this in the first place.
I still think it's a kick in the face of the PC gaming community that Valve, who know exactly what FOV is good for PC gamers, did not include the proper FOV from the start. It is literally one line of coding that needs to be changed; have they really become that lazy towards PC gamers?
It was actually one of the reasons why I cancelled my pre-order of L4D2 at the time of the demo's release. It was really disappointing to see this FOV and also to go back to a prehistoric viewmodel where the gun is glued to the right hand sight of the camera, rather than in the hands of a fully rendered model whose body was visible thru the FPS view. Why take a step back in this regard; it makes no sense.

OK, cl_viewmodelfovsurvivor changes the FOV of the weapons... now if only we could increase the FOV of the whole view, then maybe it wouldn't look so cramped that I feel the need to lean back from the monitor :( Stupid-ass "TV FOV" that's meant for consoles!

pdates to Left 4 Dead 2 have been released. The updates will be applied automatically when your Steam client is restarted. The major changes include:

Left 4 Dead 2
New mutation: Chainsaw Massacre
In Versus Special Infected bots spawn within 10 seconds of the Survivors leaving the safe room
Shortened spawn times for human Special Infected when the Infected team isn’t full. The time difference is added to the timer of the next bot in line to spawn
Exposed client console variable cl_viewmodelfovsurvivor to let players adjust their viewmodel FOV
To use this type cl_viewmodelfovsurvivor ## in the console. ## can be any number from 0-128 the default is 51

Its a new plugin where you can change the viewmodel size, i think this is exactly what we were waiting for. Just to stupid that Valve couldnt provide this and we had to wait for a community member to do the work.

Indeed the bots seem to destroy all the specials easily but do nothing while you lay on the ground with a horde around you... Theres quiet alot about the game that could do with fixing, But i shall wait and see as so far valve havent led me too far astray ;)

There's also NO headbob anymore, I feel like I'm sliding around on ice, ...kinda like the "Ellis" animation. Also, what's up with Rochelle's KILLER bot skillz? She headshots every "Special-Infected" before I even get to see them, ...and I'm a pretty good gamer, dammit!

there is a command in the engien yes. but its locked on l4d2.. well u can change it but it does not change anything. the legs have a debug command also in the console...

Yup i agree dude, this is not going to be no overnight kinda get this fixed. but i really do think its something worth pushing for. I need everyone here to invite as many people as possible and we need to spread this message over the the USA also as i think all the members here now are euro.


Please dont just invite make a message so people know what the invite as a bout i know im asking alot but i feel like this is something that could make the playing experiance better for us all... so we really need to work together to allow this to work...
