It makes the following points:

• The LRA is not in Uganda but now operates in the DRC, South Sudan and the Central African Republic

• In October last year, Obama authorised the deployment of 100 US army advisers to help the Ugandan military track down Kony, with no results disclosed to date.

• The LRA is much smaller than previously thought. It does not have have 30,000 or 60,000 child soldiers. The figure of 30,000 refers to the total number of children abducted by the LRA over nearly 30 years.

It also makes the point that there is currently no threat to remove the US advisers who are working with the Uganda government to track down the army – Invisible Children's key aim is to force the US government to keep them there.

But let's get two things straight:

1) Joseph Kony is not in Uganda and hasn't been for six years;

2) The LRA now numbers at most in the hundreds, and while it is still causing immense suffering, it is unclear how millions of well-meaning but misinformed people are going to help deal with the more complicated reality.

here is the ugandan prime minister speaking about this. he doesn't confirm whether kony is alive or not but according to him, if kony is alive, he's not even in uganda. i recommend watching this video. i also recommend not giving money to the kony 2012 scam, as it will likely not be used for what you are intending your donation to be used for. here is the link to the video.

i'm not joining this to troll or anything... but i wanted to let you guys know about these things before you support this... just trying to help you guys out. but when the video that made this cause viral was shown in uganda, they were outraged about it. because kony hasn't been a problem for over 6 years and is even presumed dead already.. the ugandans were pissed because they saw this video and felt it was the US goverment trying to put propaganda out to start an occupation of uganda. another thing i feel is important for you to know... is that this "non-profit organization" is keeping 70% of the money you give them for themselves.. only about 30% goes to the actual cause, which isn't really a legitimate cause because it's about going after someone who hasn't been a problem and has, in all likelihood, been dead for over 6 years. you don't HAVE to believe this because i'm saying it to you, but these things are true and if you research these things yourself, you will see it's truth.
