If you want to use actual military statistics: http://www.globalfirepower.com/countries-comparison.asp compare/contrast two countries or just use it to get pretty accurate information.

Let's use the US now. I will round the population of the US to 320 million to make it easier to work with (it is slightly more than that). So 70% of 320 million is 224 million that leaves only 96 million. That's the populations of Cali, Texas, New York, and half of Florida left to sustain a 224 million man military, plus the equipment and vehicle upkeeps. Plus feeding them and themselves. And finally the last part of my argument, no country is able to raise 70% of their population because of age, disease, dissertion, AWOL, etc...
Bonkey Bonkus 22 Sep, 2014 @ 12:11am
My point is that they wouldn't even be able to sustain them in the first place.....and if you don't like it leave my tier my rules oh well....Think of it this way you have a population of 10 million 7 million in personal take that divide it by 1,000 then multiply that by 10it equals 70,000.....not even your economy can sustain that for a long time without your country collapsing....
Ia Palmer 22 Sep, 2014 @ 12:05am
That's North Korea, what a horrible example for your defense. So you're saying that North Korea can sustain 16,225,000 troops with 8,675,000 people. Let's not forget how horrible of an economy NK already has. I'm sorry but if they did that while they may have a ♥♥♥♥ ton of guys they have no way to feed, clothe, and arm that many people.
Bonkey Bonkus 21 Sep, 2014 @ 11:59pm
And then they would need to sustain that amount of men with their economy
Bonkey Bonkus 21 Sep, 2014 @ 11:53pm
North Korea has around 25% of its population in its armed forces....and can call 10 million more up and will if necesary....
Ia Palmer 21 Sep, 2014 @ 11:08pm
Considering that usually a nation is only able to mobilize 2% of it's military able body individuals.
Ia Palmer 21 Sep, 2014 @ 11:07pm
2.)Your total Army size must not exceed 70% of your population otherwise your economy will collapse

What in the hell is this about. 70% of a population, that's down right insane. No economy could withstand that kind of hit. At most it should be 20% and that's still crazy talk.
