These units are being withdrawn to Fleet Reserve, as our current modern fleet has either dispensed with their service, or modernized their niche role. The fleet reserve has been located at Mustafar, a safe location distant from the troubles of the rest of the Galaxy. Naval skeleton crews shall be located there or in nearby systems, with the goal of enabling rapid reactivation if necessary. These 2,808 ships shall be guarded by local defense forces, against attacks by Enemies of the People.

Under the directive of the most glorious Supreme Chancellor, it has been decided that it is of vital importance to reform the Republic's Navy, modifying multiple classes of ships, specifically Venators and Ranger-Class Gunboats. These are to be replaced with larger more powerful designs, Type 16 Akbar-Class Fleet Carriers, and Type 14 Corona Mod B Frigates. These will serve as our new Fleet Carriers and escort units respectively. They will be replacing previous designs on a one for one basis.
However, this also leaves us with the interesting conundrum of what to do with previous ships. Various proposals have been raised. Scrapping of course, was always an option, but for us to destroy such powerful and comparatively new ships would be a waste of the People's Resources. Another option raised was to place them in reserve. Although initially rejected, in the long run we decided to simply place them at Coruscant, in a sort of active Reserve- a defensive force for our Capitol in all but name.

Due to the numerous improvements to the XV-1 Crusader, I have decided to change the name of the weapon to the XV-2 Crusader.

List of improvements:

-XV-2 more left-hand friendly

Units that have participated in wargames and fought in holographic simulations for the purposes of testing this weapon have reported that the left-handed shooters of their units have had trouble operating the XV-1. The unit leaders say that the left handed shooters had difficulty reloading because the magazine port is located on the left side of the weapon, and the primary heatsink is located close to the user's face on the right side, meaning that left-handed shooters get a blast of heat in their face as they fire.

This has been resolved by putting magazine ports on both sides and including a special plate to fill the port not in use, and the heating problem has been solved by putting the primary heatsink closer to the barrel, so that the shooter does not get his face burned by residual heat.

-Overheating issues partially resolved

Units that used the XV-1 also reported numerous overheating issues after continuously firing an entire clip of blaster rifle ammunition at a target. These include melting barrels, the shooter getting first degree burns without hand protection, the weapon jamming, molten magazines, and, in extreme cases, the entire weapon quite literally EXPLODING, killing or severely injuring the user.

This problem has been mostly resolved through two methods. Firstly, there is a thermometer at the end of the weapon to indicate just how hot the weapon is. Hopefully, this will help our troops realise how close their guns are to exploding. Secondly, the main heatsink has been improved. It now dissipates heat at a faster rate. However, the best method of keeping the Crusader cool is and always will be firing in 6-7 shot bursts. Also, if the user continuously fires several magazines, the weapon will still overheat and likely injure the weapon or the user. The problem is not entirely resolved, but it's been lessened to a tolerable level.

-New Attachments

Two new attachments have been added to the Crusader's arsenal, and one of them is a surprise. Both come special issue, though.

Rocket Launcher

This attachment allows the user to deliver anti-armor awesome at longer ranges than the Grenade Launcher. It fires 3/4 foot long and 4 centimeter wide homing rockets that can severely damage vehicles several kilometers away. Only one rocket may be loaded into the attachment, however.

FLAMETHROWER!

"Mac wants the flamethrower!"
"MAC WANTS THE WHAT!?"

A surprise attachment, this flamethrower can spray jets of flaming phosphorous, powdered magnesium, and jellied natural gas at foes a short distance away. This mixture of flammable substances can burn through most light armors and stays burning for 1-2 minutes, it can also burn underwater due to the inclusion of the phosphorous.

Currently, the Republic has The Home Fleet and Battle Fleets I. - X., while Fleets XI. - XIV. are under construction. We shall begin construction of Fleets XV. and XVI. to ensure we match pace with the Sith.
