Thanks for the feedback so far, it's been really helpful, if anyone has further thoughts . One thing to mention:

Feel free to give thoughts on what you'd like to see in the game. You don't have to limit feedback to bugs. If you have a thought on what would be cool to do or see, fire away! We're still in an early enough stage to try implementing ideas to see if they're fun.

Where we're headed:

RIght now I'm working on the building placement system. Currently the buildings snap to a grid, but I'm working on allowing the player to move and place and buildings wherever there is space, with fluid movement. Along with that I'm working towards implementing city walls. I've also got on the drawing board a bad guy called the Festering Bomber, a nasty winged creature who floats towards structures and explodes.

Upcoming features:
-City Walls. I want this to be A+. Placement, movement, moats, etc. My solution right now is not good. I'm working on it.
-Scouts can find dugeons, which the player can then crawl for loot
-New Unit: Knight
-Villages; explore to find them, then win their trust (Quests) to get caravans bringing resources to the city
-New Hero: Goblin (a reformed bad guy, he's got gadgets and weapons)
-New Crossbow Addon: Fury Spray - Infected enemy attacks bad guys
-New Crossbow Addon: Fireball Launcher - Magic noob tube
-Magic Gauntlet: Besides the crossbow addons, the player will be able to augment his abilities by modifying a magic gauntlet they are given. Things like bullettime, run speed, jumping, levitating...they'll all be modifiable with the guantlet.
-Melee. This is something that has come up a few times and it's absolutely gonna be a big part of the game. But it's also really hard to do well. So I want to tackle that when I have extended time to dedicate to it, rather than try to chip at it here and there.

These are the short list items, there's a ton more in the hopper, especially with repect to exploration. The other major item on the list is the end game for each province, which has the player assembling his army, including siege weapons, and assaulting the main enemy stronghold.

I'm mostly concerned with whether you can build a defense tower and garrison units (swordsman, crossbowman, or archer) in it. Then I want to confirm that the troops are attacking when enemies come into range. For swordsmen and crossbowmen, they will spawn near the tower and you'll see them attacking. The archers stay up in the tower but you should see their arrows hitting the bad guys.

Please post in the discussions what you guys are seeing, but mostly whether you're able to accomplish the above. Thanks!

-removed "Y" as a hotkey for a quick quit (my bad...)

-Added "F" instructions to the "H"elp menu

Hi everyone, I just pushed a new build that is a major update. Pressing 'New Game' now drops you straight into the first level.

A few keys have changed, so press "H" anywhere during gameplay for a cheat sheet on the keys and what some of the resources are.

Right now I'm playing with GUI's so you'll see two different ones - some of it is the traditional wood you see in fantasy RPG's, and elsewhere is a cleaner minimalist look. I'm still not sure which way I want to go.

Your goal right now should be to build some Defense Towers and Garrison some troops in them.

Let me know what you guys see as you go through it.

Some known issues:
-Horizontal slider for build menu is wonky
-Some shaders show transparent when mesh is hit with shadows
-Villagers walk through the cage when you rescue them
-No music yet
-Many sounds aren't filled in yet (pickups, damage, etc.)
-Main boss doesn't show info in Combat HUD mode
