Payment for Server/Mumble

It costs $60 every 3 months in order to have our game and mumble servers running. I know some people have helped out with donations, but for those who haven't and are interested, the cost per person comes out to about 2.5-3 keys every 3 months. So if you're interested in helping out, be sure to send 2-3 keys to Godphase3. I know he'd appreciate it.

Thanks

General Upkeep + This Week's Scrims

This Week's Scrims
:

Monday (8/26)
- Chilitown & Friends
Maps: Gravelpit and Swiftwater

Thursday (8/29)
- Ruckus.
Maps: Ashville and Borneo

Some of you may have heard this info before. I figured I'd repeat it here, just to make sure everyone's on board.

Two weeks till the season starts!

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Communications
We know that there have been some communication problems in the past, when it comes to keeping everyone informed on games. So to help people up to date, we'll be posting our games (scrims, practices, official matches, etc) as events on our calendar.

We'll try to do this in advance, as we find out about them. We'll still send out reminders to everyone 1-2 days before, as we have been. But feel free to use the calendar to check for dates and details, especially if no one's around. Events will go up a couple days prior, and more details (maps, times, other info) will be in them.

As usual, please tell us as soon as possible if you can't make a scrim or game.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Maps
UGC's maps are constantly being revised and updated throughout the summer. Please check the UGC Downloads page every so often (generally each week) for new versions of map before games.

Notably, a new version of Borneo was released within the past couple days, so please make sure you check for updates every week or so.

UGC Maps: http://www.ugcleague.com/files_tf2h.cfm

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Map Practices
So far, our practices have mainly been scrims, so that we can get some actual playtime with each other (new roster, new players, etc). But soon (likely next week, as we have two scrims this week), we will resume our Thursday practices/scrims.

These will generally be around 9:30 EST (+ or - a half hour sometimes, depending on people's schedules). It'll usually take a half hour or so, but it can be as long or short as we need. We'll use these practices to walk around the map, make sure everyone is famiilar with locations and their names, and talk general strategy and gameplans (engineering, holding/pushing, routes, etc).

We're getting more comfortable playing with each other, so it's about time to talk strats.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Our Server
As you all know, we have our own server (much thanks to Kalak). Our server has all the UGC maps on it, MGEmod (1v1 & 2v2), and some other maps/modes. Everyone on the team is free to use it for practice or lobbies. It's a good idea to hop on occasionally, if you want to MGE, check out a map, or lobby with the team (which is good practice - you can grab a couple people from the team, and just play together which your choice of maps/classes, without needing all 9 of us, or a scheduled team).

The server's IP: 128.173.197.130

The server will generally be un-passworded on MGEmod. If you want to put a password on it, or change the maps, you'll either need admin access, or the rcon password. In order to create a lobby on tf2lobby.com, you'll need the server IP, Rcon, and the name of the map you'd like to play. Keep in mind that the server must be completely empty (players AND sourceTV) before a lobby can be created.

The people who know the rcon password, and have admin status on the server are Kalak, Godphase, JimmyDaBig, and myself (if I remember correctly, I may be forgetting someone).

Again, this group is publicly visible, so I'm not going to post the rcons and passwords. If you want help with the server, making a lobby, or need the info, just ask one of us.
