[2025-10-07] Update 11 - Donate or Share

Despite raising $400 so far, the donations have come from only eleven people.

This group has 2668 members, meaning a $1 donation from half of you guys will still hit the $1,000 goal.

I understand a lot of you are in a position where you literally cannot donate due to geographical restrictions, but that doesn't mean you can't share the event with others.

Throw the link around: in your Discord groups, in your Tiktok bio, make an ad for it on your Facebook marketplace, whisper the URL to your grandma while she sleeps.

(Remember, any donations made are in USD, so calculate the exchange rate before sending off any funds)

I'll officially end the fundraiser on the 13th of October 2025. Let's hit our goal of $1,000 before then so I can spraypaint my teeth chrome and scream "Witness Me!" on the Garry's Mod Discord group page, which Garry is part of.

Alright, enough heel dragging...

I've delayed any fundraising because I wanted to co-ordinate a time when I could begin fundraising while also spreading hype simultaneously.

This has left a lot of you wondering what the hell I'm doing, whether I'm a 'point scammer', or whether this will ever happen.

I've decided the best course forward is to JUST FRIGGIN' SEND IT DOOD!

Remember, any donations you make go directly to Child's Play, an organisation who help bring comfort to terminally ill children. Go and add some good into the world and hopefully help grab Garry's attention at the same time.

Spread the event on your socials, even to people who don't care about the achievement, because it's for a good cause.

If the efforts of the fundraising don't garner the attention we would like, then we turn it into an annual event, and hopefully by this time next year I'll be in a better position to spread awareness.

I had previously connected to some streamers and asked them for a few shoutouts, I'll ask them again, hopefully just a little bit of attention can go a long way.

I'm not active on social media (twitter or reddit) so if anyone can give me advice about how best to get the word out, I would appreciate any and all advice.

When we start promoting the fundraiser, I'll (begrudgingly) buy Twitter/X verification to get better exposure.

Unless anyone has any better ideas, I think we'll start promoting the fundraising event starting from a month from now.

Some, will never ascend to godhood, but you can help.

If you, or someone you know is struggling with Mega Upload, please contact the Mega Upload Like-for-like hotline.

Do not take Mega Upload unless directed by your doctor. If symptoms of "not-100%" persist for more than a decade, join the Like-for-like support group. Consider if this achievement is really worth it.

Small announcement, I've created the Tiltify page for the fundraising event.

It's a work in progress, so don't be too critical of my 10 second ms-paint banner lol (I'll be getting someone who is much better at graphic design to re-make it).

It isn't time to donate yet though. I still need to contact Twitch streamers and set up some social media accounts so I can get the timing right.

Happy New Year!

What a crazy year, huh? Well, it has been for me anyway.

I can't believe it has been eight months since the last announcement.

To recap; in that time I've been busy with a one year old while juggling everything life throws at me, including multiple hospital visits, home renovations and trying to get through my university studies.

As you might be able to tell from my Steam profile's recent activity, I haven't played games much lately, it's currently sitting at 0 hours in the past 2 weeks.

I first started achievement hunting on Steam back in 2012, and for the first time ever, I haven't even been able to complete a single game within a year.

But, within the next two weeks, my toddler will be going to daycare!

That is going to free up my time to pursue more important things, like making progress on this achievement.

The plan still remains the same as back in Update 6. When I start working on it, I'll make more frequent updates.

Apologies for the delay, I know you guys have been waiting a long time, it gives me a lot of anxiety to know this is sitting on the back burner. I hate leaving projects unfinished, and I cannot drop this until I have exhausted every possibility.

And, well, have a good year!

Hello again everyone!

I think I've decided on a path forward, it's a bit of a long shot, but even if it fails, we can do some real good.

Initially, the plan was to convince Garry to participate by asking him to choose a charity of his choice, but since I haven't been able to contact him, I figured we can just go ahead and start raising money for charity, and hope he notices, and agrees to participate.

After scrubbing through over 300 blog posts[garry.blog], we've decided the best charity may be Child's Play[www.childsplaycharity.org]. The charity aims to provide fun gaming experiences for sick and terminally ill children.

As aforementioned, I want no part in the handling of money, so I plan to use Tiltify[tiltify.com], to handle and track donations.

The next step is to set up our Tiltify, reach out to streamers, gaming news media, and promote on social media (Reddit, Twitter, Discord).

Progress from here is likely to be a bit slower than it has been already, my uni semester has started again, so I hope to start promotion around June.

Thank you again for your patience. Again, I welcome all honest faith criticism, so if you think this plan can be improved, I'm open to changing plans. But as I said, even if this doesn't convince Garry, we would still be helping sick children, which is a win in it's own way (plus, it might be a tax write off!).

[2023-01-27] Update 5.1 (oh the drama)

So, my previous plan posted today ruffled some feathers; two users have reported me to SteamHunters admin for allegedly planning to abuse/harass/blackmail Garry.

Upon reflection, perhaps a coordinated effort to message Garry on his blog was a bad idea. But I remain unconvinced this constitutes harassment or abuse.

Again, I appreciate everyone's patience, and look forward to hearing any ideas, or good-faith critiques of my own.

I'll now crawl back back into my hole and think of something which has at least 60% less blackmail.
