Well there are always ways to get the old 1.31.1 PTR, and there are battle.net emulators. I for one miss FOTN...

So here I am, bought the original game 3 times over the years, pre-ordered reforged (refunded after all this ofc) and the only way I can play custom maps with my friends, as we did every now and then, is to play an objectively worse game than it ever was.

Half of the models are weak, they look like a chinese knock-off of warcraft, not the real deal (esp orcs). Campaigns are literally the same. Very important here at my place is that they made a new voiceover for Russian version, which is:
a) Overwhelmingly worse in almost all instances.
b) Makes no sence since they didn't actually change the cutscenes, so the timing match problem is non-existent, they could just slap the old one with little to no effort.
And you cant even go back to the old client and play with old voiceover BECAUSE THERE IS NO OLD CLIENT OFFICIALLY AVAILABLE ANYMORE.
And the technical+online stuff, that doesn't even worth talking about.

the price point is a tad high yes, but i saw no issues with the game, it is beautiful with the thounsands of new custom models. i guess a bit of a letdown that custom campaigns arent a thing yet in there. as for MP, i never really did anything with it, the campaign was the main reason why i bought it.

the sad truth is, blizz came first with high expectations, making the $30 price point reasonable at the time, but as production continued, they probably had a very small team, they had to slim down a bit. but regardless, i think the time and money i spent on it was worth it.

I've defended blizzard my whole life. I bought every game and expansion, no matter how subpar some of them were. But come on, reforged is THE LOW that even I can't deny.

Look we all know Blizz made a mistake here, but i would like to request we do not bring that drama into this community. It is my belief that both Blizz and the majority of the customer base are in the wrong with how the situation was handled and that all the internet knows how to do is hate.

Hey I've been playing FotN with my brother monday-tuesday nights as of late on reforged and as much as the models look a little dated it seems to run just fine. We've had games last several hours with few issues, it seems like plague+werewolves causes crashing eventually but seems mostly stable. I'm thinking about making a Discord Server to get together groups of people to play FotN with now that Reforged has dropped. Good to see so much activity on this page still. @Everyone Let's get this game alive again!

@Kuriboh Treat Reforged as a new patch - it's nothing more really on the inside, as it's literally the same game under the hood. Owners of original warcraft 3 will be playing in the same sessions with reforged owners throught b.net

Well, I think the Blizzard devs are just gonna do their custom maps (Warchasers, etc.) But We'll need the world editor for the the FOTN to be "Reforged" =))

so since the custom maps are being ported over to Reforged, how much of FOTN will make it i wonder

Does anyone know the source material for the loading screen of this game? I am planning to recreate this map for Reforged (if no one else is planning to) and I want to use the same material.

@Sulfar In other circumstances I'd call this an unscrupulous self advertisment, but minding how the development is little more than dead here, I see this more as a salvation for my FOTN-like content starvation. Thanks, I'll go check it out

@Agent Waurshington you can try making something like that from scratch in sc2 if you wish and have skills)) Modifying existing map is said to be restricted by protection - obviously dev does not want to give up his creation, but does not seem to develop it himself :\
