Sadly, I've recently had a change in employment, and along with this and other debt factors I cannot continue to afford the server.

This is not another ask for donations, this is an announcement that I will be shutting the server down. Without a server, we aren't much of anything either, this means I will also be shutting down Freedom Force.

Once more with sadness, I haven't had the same drive I once had for Arma, or community management. I haven't had the ambition to continue to work on missions and do my best to ensure (not that it always worked) that fun was had, even at an expense to my own.

It has been a fun two and a half years, but all good things must come to an end at some point. I will leave it up for a few more days, so I suggest you add anyone you want to, and prepare.

I am certain there are plenty of great Arma groups out there that can still keep going with a passion; but my well is dry. I gave it one last try today, and try we did, but it wasn't enough.

I wish everyone the best of luck, and thank you for being there with me while times were good, and while they were ♥♥♥♥♥♥.

Maybe one day we'll jam all together again.

Since tax time I've been getting hit harder with money ♥♥♥♥, thanks to owing 600 dollars and other debt piling up.

This month the server cost (coming tomorrow) will kick me in the ♥♥♥♥ pretty hard, may even pull me under.

Yes, it's 10 dollars to get it, but you get 200 cards and other ♥♥♥♥.

Yes, you have to buy virtual cards, but it's usually cheap and you don't HAVE to. I'd even be willing to organize fake-tournaments for packs out of my own pocket if people wanted to.

In other news, considering putting up some kind of 'notice board' thread where people can post things they're doing or looking for people for (like games, or ♥♥♥♥ like this) and I'd make a weekly announcement.

Why is that? Who cares, it isn't a bother to me if people don't enjoy it. Enough do that we can still do it. The point is, LBDM is generally the LAST thing I will do in a session, when I bring that up it either means

A) I'm out of missions

B) The session will have to be cut short for some reason, but we still need to have the champ defend his title

C) It's been a ♥♥♥♥ saturday



Either way, you can do plenty of these things to extend that session one more hour, and overall improve the quality of our playtime.

What can you do?

Make missions: It's not always easy, it can be rough to get into, but it's an invaluable resource and great aid that helps avoid replaying the same old missions over and over, or me having to wake up at 5 am on saturday just to tr and get one or two missions done in time. Plenty of people know how, but not enough actually continuously make missions. so take the time to learn how, it's rewarding.

Try your best during the session: Try your best to follow the rules, to maintain focus, to maintain that serious composure in regards to your orders that keeps it moving, keeps it quick, and helps us move on to other missions before Arma fatigue from ♥♥♥♥-play sets in. We have the rules in text, stickied in the discussions so there is absolutely no reason not to follow them.

Our ethos is very similar to Shacktac, similar enough that their guide can get you acquainted enough with what we intend, and how you should behave and react while in game. Improving the overall quality of each individual person will pay off on the mission itself. We can't have those fancy super duper cool missions with tons of different things if people can't even handle being a fireteam member. Work on it, improve yourself, and most of all, take it as seriously as you can. It's why we're here.

Actually show up: Another quick ender of saturdays are the people who leave real early, or don't show up at all. This group is based around weekly gatherings on an active basis, meaning people who don't show up, don't stay.

We want you to remain, but we want you to be in the group AND be here, more people means grander missions, or different types, or otherwise better experiences. As long as everyone is doing as they should be, and following the rules.

Intent here is to improve the quality of our sessions more and more every week. Work on yourselves first, and it'll extend outward.
