Just installed Ulitmate Seekers. Played years ago when Aht Urghan came out but moved to WoW after that. The changes they made seem promising and I will be starting from scratch again on Bahamut server. Hope to see some of you in-game!

I just recently came back after a ~2.5-3 year absence. I played from 2003-2010 and just came back the middle of February. I was on Quetzalcoatl then it merged to Odin I think (memory not good). However, I'm now on Phoenix but I might move to another server. Not sure which yet.

What's up everyone? Just wanted to say hi. I was a FFXI vet player back when the game was released on PC in the US, and I quit back in 2006-2007. Aht Urhgan was the last expansion I played. Anyhow, I just started back again with a clean character on the Sylph server. Looking forward to playing again. This game carries with it alot of nostalgia.

bought the game today again after taking nearly 3 year break from it.. been updating it for last 3 hours and looks like another 10 to go... Ill most likely start playing on Bismarck server since that was my previous one. If anyone want to join my adventures let me know :D

How is everyone getting this install to work? I tried steam install only, and it wont login to pol or update. even with check files.

I tried the win7 compatible version on the website, it updates fine but wont detect the ffxi install than. Tried uninstalling, than installing win7 comp pol than steam version and it gives me a bad registry path error with no details on which registry entry it is. Unfortunately I do not have my game discs anymore thus the reason I'm using the steam variant.

Just bought the game, wondering what server would be the most new member friendly? Also looking for other people to play with hopefully.

It might be confusing at first but the game is forgiving at later levels. As long as you ask for instructions people are pretty willing to tell you what's needed.

can anyone tell me if this game is worth starting as a new player?

I stopped playing ffxi cuz of school and I rarely hop on steam, So i haven't been managing the steam group that much :| so sorry 'bout that. But I heard FFXI is getting a new expansion comming out and Its gotten fairly easier to play for people who just started.
Other than that I'm always on FFXIAH.com and on skype. Really glad that the community has grown and recieved more members :3
