The newly expanded “Best of the South West” now incorporates DotA 2. So if you think you have the best players at your University, sign-up here for the DotA2 tournament!

The game mode is 5 vs 5 Captain’s Draft and entry costs £5 per team with the prize pool pending, it is expected the victors will win over £100 as a team.

Unfortunately there is a limit of 16 teams which can enter, though this may be negotiated if sufficient demand is met. All rounds will be played online aside from the Grand Final, which will be streamed Live from the University of Bath. For more information about this check out our Event Day page.

The competition starts with all teams being randomly placed into 4 groups of 4 playing a round robin in Best of One games.

From here the Winners and Runners Up will again be seeded into a Single Elimination Bracket. All rounds from here in will be Best of Three games and will be streamed by hyhy.

So this tournament is the main purpose for this group, but it will most likely remain as a general DotA group for the soc (either that or we are marginalised by the Soc heads until we splinter into our own radical Soc and launch a campaign against the LoL pigs).

The plan moving forward, even though we are currently very much in our infancy, will probably try to get as many people as we can into this group and organise a meet-up, where issues such as number of teams, structuring, dynamics, and all the rest will be decided.

Your job (you, the beloved dear reader and member) right now is to get all your Exeter friends who play DotA informed, interested, and interred into this group so there is an idea of numbers before we go ahead and organise the meetup.
