Discord Server for ES2 MP

Here's the invite to the Endless Space 2 Multiplayer server I started.

I'm new to using discord, so please let me know if there is additional information necessary to use discord to set up matches. I added links to the general text and voice channels on the group info page.

If looking for game -- Go to Discussions and subscribe to Find Active Sessions

So, this announcement is three-fold in nature.

1) On the Discussion page, Post new MP sessions that you're recruiting players for.

2) Subscribe to that Forum to be alerted to new MP sessions posted by others.

3) Looking for moderators to help run this show.

and finally,

I'll look into setting up a discord channel for ES2 MP. I really know next to nothing about Discord, but Jones### suggested it, so I'll try and hook that up, will probably just edit this announcement once I get it set up, if I can figure it out.

Active Hosting Subforum added

In the discussion board, I've added the subforum 'Active Hosting Sessions' for people wishing to post current games to recruit players. This will replace the general subforum as the default forum, so if you want to participate in past discussions or post general discussions, you'll have to click the appropriate sub-forum on the right hand of the screen.

That about sums it up. It's on the doorstep.

Looking forward to watching the Twitch Stream on release. I'm expecting fireworks! I hope they'll have a good gameplay lined up to showcase a battle with fighters and bombers.

If you're like me, and hadn't ever played the original Endless Space, it's on steam for $1. And if you're like me, you jumped on that right quick.

One article in pcGamer said the deluxe edition will be available to those of us who didn't buy the full version, at an upgrade rate. I hadn't experienced any Amplitude game, so I was too tentative to go 'all-in' but hope to offer a little more monetary support in exchange for that founder icon on G2G. Currently, this upgrade option is not actually available in the Steam Store.

Looking forward to seeing you on the battlefield and in diplomatic back-channels.

Not entirely sure how this group will be used, but perhaps it will be a location where we can connect with the competitors and friends we meet on the game's servers for regular matches.

Post-Patch Performance/Any Moderators Out There?

Most things seem to be running perfectly since the recent patch to update 1.

In the comments section, ValhallasAshes reports that a Dev Blogpost mentioned a remote possibility Multi-Player may be released with the next update. So, my initial estimate may be way to conservative. I hadn't seen that at the time of the introductory Announcement.

Now is the time to volunteer to be co-moderator of this group. Reasons for my desiring that are in comments section.

Happy post-patch play to everyone. Just a note for those who hadn't read it on G2G, pre-patch saves with the UE do not work. I actually got through a handful of turns before it crashed on me.

Welcome to the unofficial Endless Space 2 User Multiplayer Coordinating Group!

If you're like me, you're eagerly awaiting a patch for the recent bug that has plagued the game for the last couple weeks, it's expected tomorrow.

We've got lots of time to prepare ourselves for the excitement of battling each other for dominance of the Galaxy. Multiplayer will be released with either the 3rd update or the 4th.
