hi guys, it's Arsonist just had a fun name change and i'm so glad to hear that he's alive, I miss that ♥♥♥♥♥♥. I'll check out EJ's page and see what g14 said. you are all legends
I.in.Team 12 Apr, 2019 @ 11:25pm
Wow. wow. well, we did it. He's alive. I believe what G14 says. HE'S ALIVE!! He's fricken alive!!!! We don't have complete information yet, but holy hell. A bit of sleuthing pays off sometimes. As far as the purpose of the group, yes, mostly closed but honestly I am ready for more information. If someone wishes to tell me where the heck he actually is, there is no reason I can't go visit EJ in person. For me it's a short jet flight away. Not a big deal considering we've been chipping away at this for three years now.
wapachoo 28 Mar, 2019 @ 10:13pm
G14 commented on the main EJ's Crew group with info. Group purpose closed, I guess?
I.in.Team 17 Mar, 2019 @ 10:52pm
We're a few days away from the three year mark.

EJ had three steam profiles that I have found: Ejraiel, "EJ's storage", and "An Island"
https://steamid.eu/profile/76561198153738717 "EJ's storage"
https://steamid.uk/profile/76561198190846155 "An Island" private profile, absent a bit longer than EJ, I'm assuming this is another EJ profile
I.in.Team 17 Mar, 2019 @ 10:51pm
The closest people to EJ on Steam might be G14 and PirateKender.
G14 is the only person to have been friends with "EJ's storage" (other than "An Island" and "Ejraiel"), and is also friends with PirateKender, who is the only person who has claimed to have any knowledge at all about the circumstances of EJ's disappearance, as stated that she talked to EJ about it beforehand, said that he is basically okay but will be absent for some time. I sent them both friend requests a few days ago.
https://v1.steam.hlxgame.cc/id/iG14xT/ -- G14, active on Steam currently.
https://v1.steam.hlxgame.cc/id/piratekender -- absent from Steam a few months now.
Anyone friends with G14?
I.in.Team 28 Dec, 2018 @ 10:53pm
Yeah it was clearly not his main identity but a separate one isolated to steam and a few other things.
wapachoo 27 Dec, 2018 @ 10:10pm
I've checked most of those through, and they're honestly so empty they might as well have never been used. It's weird.
I.in.Team 27 Dec, 2018 @ 10:05pm
No last name. I'll repost the fragments of his EJraiel identity that I found online, from earlier in this forum. I think it's worth you going back through the pages of the discussion to refresh memory of what we have.
I think we can:
reach out to valve
reach out to other people in his friend network, such as Arsonist's skype friend who claims to know more of his disappearance than any of us.
simply do searches using his first name, approximate age, location etc against criminal records, obituaries, etc...
wapachoo 16 Dec, 2018 @ 8:35pm
Did we ever get initials, even a hint about the last name?
I.in.Team 12 Dec, 2018 @ 1:34pm
Yeah we only have partial info for name, location and birthdate, not sure what to do next with it. Arsonist (Jazzy) provided the only information so far, via a mutual friend on skype, and that info was vague but suggestive of incarceration as the reason for his disappearance. Arsonist, do you want to reach out to your skype friend again, see if she has anything to add about what happened to him or perhaps she can add or confirm biographical data, like DOB, location, other usernames EJ might have used such as on skype etc...?
wapachoo 11 Dec, 2018 @ 4:47pm
Guess there isn't anything left to dig up.
wapachoo 5 Jan, 2018 @ 6:11pm
About a year and a half now.
I.in.Team 9 May, 2017 @ 10:45pm
Oops I meant March 22, not April
I.in.Team 25 Apr, 2017 @ 6:58pm
Really what, Marzipan? One year? Yes. April 22. And welcome.
泥甜沙芋头 22 Apr, 2017 @ 11:14am
Really???
I.in.Team 22 Apr, 2017 @ 9:46am
One year
I.in.Team 13 Jan, 2017 @ 1:41pm
Another data point: EJ's DOB: Dec 15 (thanks Yell0w), probably 1981, 1982, or 1983. 1980 or 84 are also possible but less likely.
wapachoo 5 Jan, 2017 @ 10:54am
Yay! we finally have something on EJ that suggests/tells us that he'll be back!
I.in.Team 5 Jan, 2017 @ 12:03am
Jazzy this is incredible. Thank you for sharing it. Please let us know if you talk to Kalyn again and get any additional info. EJ = deep cover operative?? j/k. But hey, EJ = alive, this is great, great news.
Mr. Grimm 27 Dec, 2016 @ 6:55pm
Unless this person has some crazy mental issues, I find no reason for something like this to be fabricated. Seems legit. Now only time will tell, I guess.
Meatsoda 23 Dec, 2016 @ 1:32pm
A good question, I only knew Kaylin through playing with Eric. I really only talked to her once and I don't know her very well. I believe her however, I'm pretty sure she knew Eric pretty well, and she told me all she knew and had to no reason to tell me a lie, and evidently Eric had given her this information himself. *shrugs*
I.in.Team 22 Dec, 2016 @ 10:36pm
holy shh--

Jazzy, this is huge, this is a breakthrough! And is Kalyn someone you are inclined to believe?
Meatsoda 22 Dec, 2016 @ 5:37pm
So, I only just found the person on skype again, (I have a long contact list lol) and I was able to pull up the messages where she told me about Eric's dissapearance. This is what she said when I asked about where he had gone. Take a read folks!

[5/8/2016 1:11:50 PM] Kalyn [Pirate]: Well, I don't know that I can disclose much. I don't know much more than this myself, but he won't be around for a while
[5/8/2016 1:12:30 PM] Kalyn [Pirate]: He's safe, healthy, and so on, but absolute minimum he'll be gone is around a year. More likely longer
[5/8/2016 1:14:24 PM] Kalyn [Pirate]: And it's not like he hurt anyone or anything like that either. Nothing horrible. No reason to worry for him according to what I was told
[5/8/2016 1:15:17 PM] Kalyn [Pirate]: It was very sudden (enough that whatever it is couldn't even be discussed with his best friend), so we're all left rather out of the loop
I.in.Team 18 Dec, 2016 @ 11:49pm
Jazzy, yes! But wait, someone told you EJ said he'd be gone for a year?!? Izzat true? More info please!
I.in.Team 18 Dec, 2016 @ 11:47pm
Nice forum post †⌐£íƒë¦ìñk¬† ®

Mr. Grimm 18 Dec, 2016 @ 4:06pm
I just hope he's alive and and doing well for himself. I'd like to think he got some badass job making 6 figures and doesn't have time for gaming and internet anymore. I'm just afraid of the possibility that it could be that something bad happened to him.

If anyone stumbles upon his last name, post it up. Might have to google some obituaries. Found a few of my old friends that way, sadly.
Meatsoda 18 Dec, 2016 @ 2:41pm
Talking directly to a valve employee is a great idea. And if they don't want us to know anything about him (legal loopholes etc) we could start some sort of petition for them to help us find out what happened to him. Eric had a huge impact on all of us, and to be quite honest we need him back lol
I.in.Team 16 Dec, 2016 @ 11:47pm
One of the last conversations I had with Eric was about the various countries I've visited. He was always impressed by my silly attempts to communicate in text with non-english-speaking visitors to his Unturned maps, using the smatterings of conversational language I've picked from traveling. Turkish, russian, Greek, all butchered spectacularly with failed transliteration into English letters. Anyway, in discussing my impressions of various countries, we came to the conclusion that he might really like to try the Netherlands. Germanic enough to be sort of OCD and orderly, rule-based, but also so, so pragmatic and generally laissez-faire. A friendly place that is very design-conscious, lets people be who they want and where everyone should have a decent standard of living. That appealed to Eric and I imagined him going there to see for himself sometime soon.
I.in.Team 16 Dec, 2016 @ 11:47pm
Best case: All his computer equipment got stolen or destroyed at once, and he hasn't pieced his online life back together for some reason. Another possibility that would account for his disappearance is incarceration--Jail, prison. Those are the happiest explanations I could think of. If he is in a coma or something, I'd like to be able to visit him. If he is dead, I would have liked to memorialize him and have closure. I can see now there is a massive downside to relative anonymity in an online medium. He was my friend, no doubt, but I have no idea who he was in terms of the mundane details like last name and city of residence.
Mr. Grimm 11 Dec, 2016 @ 8:24pm
Anyone got any leads? :whiteward:
I.in.Team 22 Nov, 2016 @ 5:07pm
Pardon my language. Got riled up there.
I.in.Team 20 Nov, 2016 @ 12:16am
So what do we do here. I'm thinking we lobby steam/valve along the lines of 'look we think our friend is dead and we want some ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ closure. We deserve that much.' Somewhere behind the scenes at valve there are real people, hell I had an acquaintance who worked there on their shortlived hardware project, I think she was heading it up or something. Point being, it's not a huge company, how do we break through and get this thing solved. enough is enough.
Mr. Grimm 18 Nov, 2016 @ 8:28pm
Weird. Now it says 241 days ago. My steam is known to give stupid time read-off's... on the reg, unforunately.
wapachoo 18 Nov, 2016 @ 4:23pm
Yeah, he's in pst, he's not in dc.
I.in.Team 16 Nov, 2016 @ 11:39am
guys, quick thought, is it possible he was not in Washington state, but Washington DC? On youtube he likes a little-known band that is from D.C. I remember he used to have that unusual music in the background while we played. But I also thought that we were both in the Pacific time zone. I'm almost certain. Just throwing out the vague possibility that it was DC. This all just feels like one big dead end. I want Steam to help us somehow.
I.in.Team 16 Nov, 2016 @ 11:33am
If I were to make a wild guess as to where he lived, it'd be Seattle or Bellevue. This is because I perceived him to be an intelligent guy who liked computers, so he might be in the tech industry. I did some half-assed sifting around looking for obituaries for an Eric around March 22, but I wasn't very effective.
I.in.Team 16 Nov, 2016 @ 11:27am
His youtube profile uses the name Ejraiel Lightsmith*; a lightsmith could be someone who works with lasers, or does visual art, which might be a reference to the fact that he liked to build things with pixels, like his complex structures inside Unturned. He talked about designing a game of his own.

*see my previous comment from Jul 20 2016 for links to his other online presences.
I.in.Team 15 Nov, 2016 @ 5:46pm
logged on where? steam still shows "Last Online 239 days ago"
I.in.Team 15 Nov, 2016 @ 5:44pm
wait, what??
I.in.Team 15 Nov, 2016 @ 5:43pm
Washington State. Eerily, 10 days before EJ disappeared, Pokemon creative design director Eric Medalle was killed by a falling tree in Seattle. I thought at first it could be him but EJ's Github comments are dated up to Mar 20 and the ask.libreoffice.org forum comments go to Mar 21, while Eric Medalle reportedly died Mar 13.
Mr. Grimm 15 Nov, 2016 @ 5:40pm
He logged on 38 minutes ago, apparently.
I.in.Team 15 Nov, 2016 @ 5:20pm
Ejraiel's skype, as well as github, youtube, G+, steam and various forum comments all went quiet March 22.

Ejraiel Last Online 187 days ago (couldnt verify if this was real as site wouldnt load)

does anyone have a clue what his last name is? birthday? what city he lived in? any info at all?

I.in.Team 1 Nov, 2016 @ 1:28pm
He once told me he was in his early thirties, I believe it was between 31 and 34. He told me that sometime after Oct 2015 so he would have been born between 1980 and 1984
