Fair enough.
lukaself 23 Mar @ 11:33am
Wouldn't know. Piracy isn't our domain of expertise - rather consumer rights and preservation.
Asillyhat 23 Mar @ 9:18am
So, has hypervisor effectively killed Denuvo?
pgames-food 20 Mar @ 7:40pm
(ubisoft i mean) :)
pgames-food 20 Mar @ 7:40pm
probably because they cant be trusted
Triturion 20 Mar @ 5:48pm
Why do some Ubisoft games not list Denuvo in their DRM, but they are on this curator list?
lukaself 20 Mar @ 3:20pm
Yes, it's already in the curator.
They sold *reads notes* 3k copies in total.
They really showed those pirates who's boss!
I will full back my SSD
RIP Crimson Desert
Amaterasu 12 Mar @ 2:11pm
I was going to announce that Bravely Default had Denuvo. But someone beat me to it. So I'm just going to state that the Switch 2 version must have performed poorly, because they were quick in shuffling it off to PC and XBOX
lukaself 12 Mar @ 12:11pm
Got it. Thanks for keeping an eye out.
zpc 12 Mar @ 11:43am
So sad about Crmsion Desert having Denuvo :steamsad:

Free To Play also which is confusing
Nice. I now need to wait for enigma to get removed from 'Monster Hunter Stories 2'.
lukaself 3 Mar @ 10:42am
I dare assume that the persistent backlash played a role. Now let's see whether it's a one-off or they drew the right conclusions.
manbearp1g 3 Mar @ 10:33am
Seems like Capcom removed Enigma from RE4 Remake shortly after replacing Denuvo with it.
Mr. Sparrowman 2 Mar @ 11:12pm
WWE 2K26 uses Denuvo
Pillman 28 Feb @ 12:57am
Fingers crossed Hogwarts Legacy will be next,or maybe they won't remove it cuz HL sold really well and they'll keep it like they did with Shadow of War
lukaself 26 Feb @ 12:26pm
Takes a special company to just list anti-consumer DRM out of habit.
Mr. Sparrowman 26 Feb @ 12:19pm
Gotham Knights just removed it in today's update. and Paranormasight recently removed the mention of it without ever using Denuvo in the game itself.

My guess is it was automatically or unintentionally listed.
lukaself 22 Feb @ 3:50am
Yep but we'll keep the warning up until they make an official announcement about that mistake. Wouldn't want to tell our members the coast is clear only for them to put Denuvo in after the fact.
min3r95 17 Feb @ 6:03am
@marv Steam itself isn't a DRM, it's a distributing platform.
And yes I do have the feeling that many companies dislike Steam, because it's one of the platforms that not only allow us to play downloaded game, but also allow us to have more control, until the publishers themselves step in that is.
marv 17 Feb @ 5:02am
Just had a thought on how Companies like Capcom willingly switch from DRMs Denuvo or Enigma looking at the state of their Dino crisis ports on Steam versus GoG. By intentionally keeping the Steam versions inferior on purpose, it feels not just an attack on customers but intentional sabotage at Steam sales of their product. Of course, they're not Tim Sweney levels of vindictive where they go out of their way to make a bad store and lawsuits because they hate Gabe taking a cut to put it on his store. But willingly burning cash to these shady DRM sites just to spike a product for possibly over a decade at this point in SEGA's case - when Steam is a DRM? Well, we already have the feeling that they hate and distrust PC consumers so why not storefronts too?
Amaterasu 7 Feb @ 12:09pm
@CasaRomeo Ace Combat has historically been a niche series. We're honestly lucky to have gotten 7 at all . With 7 selling the most copies since Ace Combat 04. On the PS2. Released in 2001.
Amaterasu 7 Feb @ 12:07pm
@ExiaRS For a moment there, I was confused as hell. These video game companies really need to come up with new names for their products that do not match previous acronyms.

In case anyone's wondering, I thought CV II was Castelvania II and was wondering why Bamco was doing it when it's a Konami product. That's also older than me...
ExiaRS 3 Feb @ 11:51pm
Speaking about Bamco new leadership...
They fully embraced and force censorship, fully aligned with d.e.i. policies.
Look no further from CV II which, good news, sales bombed.
Japan game devs are fully infiltrated and compromised.

But, we are about Denuvo DRM here so I won't comment more.
lukaself 3 Feb @ 5:00am
Thanks! Desphael will put the announcement up as soon as possible.
The Denuvo contract for the Resident Evil games must be really weird seeing how they only remove it when the next one releases... I wonder what kind of benefit they expect for keeping it that long?
ExiaRS 3 Feb @ 4:54am

Denuvo Removed, added DRM The Enigma Protector
CasaRomeo 2 Feb @ 10:09am
If you consider that ACE COMBAT 8 already has a niche audience, this move seems to be weird. Give a potential customer more reason to consider a niche genre. Who is making these decision. :steamfacepalm:
lukaself 2 Feb @ 10:07am
This will damage the brand and hurt the sales on the long-term but it's not the first-time a company shoots itself in the foot out of myopic management decisions and it certainly won't be the last.
lukaself 2 Feb @ 10:05am
Yeah, I mentioned that on Discord some time ago. They didn’t just change the management - they also restructured their remuneration so it’s now largely sales-based.

That likely pushes them to prioritize quick, short-term results to keep shareholders happy, at the expense of goodwill, reputation, and - most importantly - the long-term sales tail, which on PC is just as important, if not more so, in many cases.

Seems like they had quite a shift at the top so could be: new management, new rules:ot2_octopuff:
lukaself 2 Feb @ 9:14am
Disappointing, I know.
Bandai Namco spent six years not using it on a single game realizing their best profits to this day and amazingly, they still go back to treating their customers like thieves.

CasaRomeo 1 Feb @ 9:06pm
@lukaself as I did not like the games they made after the first, I pretty much hoped the new Team could do a better job. Its of to a rocky start already, yay....
JetPackAndButlers 29 Jan @ 6:28am
Square usually removes it after 6 months or so:ot2_octopuff:
If someday they remove DENUVO from DRAGON QUEST I & II HD-2D REMAKE
I'll be good to do all the series XD
lukaself 27 Jan @ 6:04pm
@CasaRomeo Are you speaking about Life Is Strange? If that's any consolation, this isn't from the same devs. Bandai Namco merely owns the IP.
CasaRomeo 25 Jan @ 11:23am
This is unfair the first time, I hear about my favorite game is that I cant buy it. Didn´t even know they still made games after the flops they made before. ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥, :steamsad:
lukaself 20 Jan @ 3:26pm
We'll know once the 10th year mark comes for Mankind Divided this year. I wouldn't put it past them to have made 10 year contracts for every western game they published but it's also likely to have been a fluke and that they don't actually care. :clickbutton:
Pillman 20 Jan @ 2:19pm
Speaking of Square and Life is Strange, can they please remove Denuvo from LiS 2 ?? The game was released in September 2018 ffs.Or do I need to wait for the game's 10th anniversary like Just Cause 3 to have it removed....
lukaself 20 Jan @ 1:38pm
The original developers of Life is Strange have moved on years ago and none of their products published or developed, use Denuvo now - some are even available on GOG.
I'm not surprised, Square Enix would have forced them to make sequels until the end of time and it would have ended up like Telltale.
かぐや 20 Jan @ 11:21am
ExiaRS 16 Jan @ 1:15am
My bad... You're right, I mixed them up.
