Welcome to the (semi) official group for DOA6++, a gameplay mod for Dead or Alive 6 created by Rev_an! This mod removes Break Gauge entirely, buffs freestep speed, and adds new stages/moves as well as adjusting existing ones!

The purpose of this group is to make it easier for people to find matches for the mod, as my past experiences whenever I wanted to play this version after a while have been difficult. There is no specific 6++ Discord, and relying on people reading the lobby title almost NEVER works no matter how many variants of "DOA6++ MOD VERSION 5.1 DO NOT JOIN IF YOU'RE ON VANILLA OR WE WILL DESYNC" I try to fit in the character limit. I hope this group will make it easier for people to enjoy 6++, as the times I've gotten to play it have been incredible.

Download/Installation

First off, being a gameplay mod, this of course requires you to have Dead or Alive 6 downloaded. At the time of this post, the game and its digital deluxe edition are on sale, but even if you're viewing this later, the game goes on sale often due to its age, and the Free to Play Core Fighters version is an option despite its limited character roster. https://store.steampowered.com/app/838380/DEAD_OR_ALIVE_6/

The most recent version of 6++ is always linked at the top of the first post in Rev_an's thread on Free Step Dodge: https://www.freestepdodge.com/threads/6-gameplay-overhaul-update-5-1.9160/

Unzip the file and paste the contents into your DOA6 folder.

...and that's all you need to do! The installation really is that easy! But some of you might be asking:

"But what if I want to switch back to the vanilla version of DOA6?"

Worry not! The zip file also comes with a pair of batch files you can use to enable and disable 6++ at your leisure! That way, whenever you want to either experience the official product or want to try this alternate version of the game, all it takes is one click!

Miscellaneous

Some additional information worth noting:
1. 6++ DOES NOT WORK WITH PLAYERS WHO AREN'T USING THE MOD!!! As I mentioned earlier, if one person has 6++ installed and the other doesn't, it will cause a desync where either after a round or at the end of the match, you will both be stuck in an infinite loading screen, forcing one of you to close the game.

2. The mod will cause replays from the vanilla version as well as previous versions of 6++ to break, so either switch back to vanilla before watching or back up replays for older versions elsewhere.

3. Existing stage/costume mods may have some unintended side effects, but nothing game-breaking. (i.e. costumes not aligning with the hurtbox)

Legal Stuff

Aka the "if someone from KT is reading this with their lawyers on speed dial" section:

DOA6++ is ENTIRELY nonprofit. Nobody involved with the mod's development has ever received any sort of monetary gain from it, nor is it intended to compete with or replace the official game. Installing 6++ does NOT give the user access to content they haven't already purchased.
