Im hijackin Eon's post as he had a great idea to kinda see where everyone is at.

Class: Wizard
Level 37 (will be 40 by today, at least)
Act/Difficuty: Act I Nightmare (almost to Act 2)

Goals: Saving up gold to outfit my guy with some more Legendary Items, and build up Jewelcrafter.

I don't know how everyone else is fairing with gear.
But at level 19 (these long work days away from D3 are killing me!) ive already been able to secure 3 Legendary Items for my Wizard. 2 of those were purchased on the AH. I've also locked up many decent Rare items.

I've spent a good chunk of time just learning how to properly navigate the AH menu's and search effectively. It all sounds stupid - but once you know what your looking for, how much you want to spend its very easy to narrow it down to items you need and can actually afford. A few patient minutes of searching can yield huge rewards.

First off you want to, of course, build up some gold to spend. Once you know how much your going to spend you can easily type in your Max Buyout at the bottem-left portion of the AH screen. Sort the items your looking for - Armor, weapons... Rare, Legendary. And you can generaly sort the items by the buyout price (by clicking on the buyout label at the top). Sort from lowest to your Max Buyout criteria and you'd be suprised whats on there for the prices its listed as.

Legendary items for 6k gold - I will say yes to that.

Next - don't just endlessly sift through items you don't need.
For example, my Wizard needs Intelligence and Vitality to stay alive right?
Search for your items by what stats you want. There is no criteria too strict - THERE ARE A LOT OF ITEMS ON THE AH! So don't be afraid to tweak your search criteria until you get something you want.


Tips for selling - I've noticed the big money makers are items that have +Stats to things like Vitality, Strength, etc core stats. If it doesn't benefit your characters core stats, its not likely to benefit you very much unless it something that leeches a lot of HP or adds a significant ammount to Attack Speed.

Its only been a few days, and i've been very successful at outfitting my Wizard for combat.
