So, I know a lot of you wanted the game to stay the way I had it originally, with underwater locales and such. However, after hearing about the game SOMA came out, I realized that my original light build of the plot was too similar to it, and to the BioShock games. So I'm going to be overhauling the plot a bit, not too drastic, we might still get some marine sequences, but it's gotta change a little bit. We also got some new volunteers, so that's a plus. The hospital and reception area maps are under development currently, with great results so far. I'm the one doing most of the development at the moment, but our newest member Otterman (Lee) will be pitching in as soon as his schedule allows. Screenshots of these maps will be available shortly.

With the newest version of Blender (2.71) comes a whole host of bugs, including major issues with skeletal animation, and particle rendering. At the moment, whenever I attempt to animate a mesh using bones, it freaks out and deforms all over. In addition, particle effects do not render at all, being completely invisible. I'll try to fix this as soon as I can, but if I can't, it'll have to wait till these bugs are fixed by the Blender Foundation itself. I'll still try to get "synapse_testmap1" out ASAP, till then, keep an eye out for future updates!

I'm currently designing a test map for the weapons and creatures, it'll be fairly simple, a large, open area, a cramped corridor, a small round room, etc. not sure who'll do the texturing, as Ryan is already bogged down with the weapon textures.
