Competitive UCH 9/16 Tournament Rules and Information

General Information:

This tournament will be hosted over the month of September, however it may go over into October if necessary. Signups have already been posted and will end at 12:00 AM ET 8/25/16 (4:00 AM GMT 8/25/16). Groups will then be drawn Friday 8/26/16 @ 7:00 PM (11:00 PM GMT). The drawings will be livestreamed by myself for the purposes of hype (hopefully) and to prove that they were done completely random. Once the groups are announced, players may start their matches if they wish.

This tournament will be split into 3 stages. Group Stage, LCQ (if needed), and Finals.

Group Stage:

Players will be randomly split into groups (size and # of groups will be determined by number of participants) and each group will have a round robin tournament. The top X (# determined by size and # of groups) of each group will move on to the Finals. If there is an irregular number of groups the next best 1-2 players from each group will move into the Last Chance Qualifier (LCQ). This stage will likely take 1-2 weeks.

All Group Stage and LCQ matches will be best of 3s.

Last Chance Qualifier:

The LCQ will work the same way as the group stage however there will usually only be 1 group. If for whatever reason the # of players in the LCQ is large it may be split into multiple groups. The top players in the group stage will fill the remaining spots in the finals. This stage will likely take 1-2 weeks.

Finals:

The Finals will be a single elimination tournament of likely 8 players. Seeding in the finals will be determined by Win %. If for whatever reason groups are uneven, then the group(s) with the lowest % of players qualifying for the Finals will get the highest seeds. This stage will likely take 1-2 weeks.

All Finals matches will be best of 5s.

Top 2 into Finals
No LCQ
8 man Finals Tournament

15 Players:
5 groups of 3
Top 1 into Finals, 2nd into LCQ
5 man LCQ, top 3 into Finals.
8 man Finals Tournament

30 Players:
6 groups of 5
Top 2 into finals, 3rd into LCQ
6 man LCQ, top 4 into finals
16 man Finals Tournament

Reporting Results:

While pictures/video are not necessary for reporting the score, they are highly reccommended in case of a dispute.

Punishable Offenses:

Trapping Start/Goal (blocks/traps/black holes).
Stalling by repeatedly making rounds physically impossible.
Reporting false information (this includes reporting the won/loss incorrectly, and falsely accusing someone of breaking the rules).

Punishments include but are not limited to: Warning/Probation, Loss of match/set, Disqualification, Ban from chat/forum/tournaments. All actions taken by the Comp UCH Staff are final.

If people are able to stream I may ask to commentate certain matches (which will basically consist of me streaming over someone else's stream). If a match is arranged, please mute everything other than the game sounds.

Picking the Level

All 9 levels are legal

First game:
I. Player 1 bans 1 level
II. Player 2 bans 2 levels
III. Player 1 bans 2 levels
IV. Player 2 bans 1 level
V. Player 1 picks out of the three remaing levels

Remaining games:
I. (Lost)Player bans 1 level
II. (Won)Player bans 1 level
III. (Lost)Player bans 2 levels
IV. (Won)Player bans 1 level
V. (Lost)Player picks out of the four remaing levels

IMPORTANT NOTE: Although we are expecting honesty from everyone, take screenshots of every win of every level in case your oponent reports a lie. If you would like to report someone of the offenses above, screenshots or videos will be required in order to correctly punish the suspect.
