Glad to say that the yesterday's event went extremely well and was probably the biggest organized event we've taken part in so far. The current plan is to have one event of that kind of magnitude every week.

I also realize that I haven't managed to post too much information about the alliance we're in, so I'll get started with that. The alliance was created just about a week ago after we got merged with Lithcorp. We currently have about 6-7 outfits here but we have a lot of candidates that we are in negotiations with. The alliance has a quite unintuitive name - United Terran Republic Outfits - UTRO for short. One of the outfits that has so far contributed most towards getting all the outfits working together has been Wings of Glory who you've probably noticed ingame a lot (their tag is 01WG). They have been kind enough to provide the Alliance with both a Teamspeak server and a forum, both are open for all outfits and we have a lot of customization options there to make sure they cater for our outfit as well.

The teamspeak server is wgclan.net - no password, just jump in.
The forum is hosted on http://www.wgclan.co.uk/home - you can register there, then fill out Apply! - UTRO application to get access to the alliance forums and event calendar.

As to everyday communications we've been hanging around on the teamspeak server a lot and it has proved to be a great place for just chatting around and discussing stuff, as well as for communicating in game. Some of use are logged in there a lot even if we're not currently playing so everyone here would be most welcome to hop in there. We're mostly hanging around in our own CTAF channel.

And finally, I've been working on a document that I'd hope would help us to advance our tactical gameplay to the next level. It's currently definately a work in progress and I'm very open to comments and suggestion about it. I'd like it to be something that we can all agree on.

Game update 4 + friday event

Great news! Servers just went down for installation of GU4. Downtime is anticipated to be less than 2 hours. This is the biggest content update we've yet received for Planetside 2 and a must to check out.

Also we've finally joined the Terran alliance on cobalt - United Terran Republic Outfits (UTRO). Our first joint assault takes place this friday. Start time is Friday, Mar 15, 07:00:00 pm (GMT 0). Hope to see you all there! Make sure you don't forget to patch in advance of the event. Will probably be a huge download.

Post-Merge Battle for Amerish

As you might have heard, on the 1st of March our server is going to be merged with another EU server - Lithcorp.

I've been contacted by an outfit representative of Lithcorp and we've discussed plans of creating an alliance of TR outfits on Cobalt after the merge.

To celebrate the merge an event has been organized. On the 2. March (Saturday) there is going to be a battle between the outfits of our alliance and the NC alliance which is also welcoming it's new members from Lithcorp. The objective of the event is to capture the base "The Ascent" on amerish. Whichever outfit/faction holds this base at 9pm UTC+1, comes out of the event as a winner.

If you want to partake of the event with us, it would be nice if you showed up before this time so you can actually fight at the battle that will happen the hours before. Depending on the situation/territory control on Amerish our outfit will probably move out at around 7pm UTC+1.

P.S. While the patch will start to be implemented in an hour and a half, there will actually be a downtime of about 4 hours so a bit more patience :P.

Steam group created

I'll try to get all of us that use steam into this group so we can have an easy overview of how many of us are online and playing as well as have a nice place for group discussions. I still have quite few of your steam accounts added so if you're playing the game, let others in our outfit know about the steam group and encourage them to add my steam account, which is psycho_bat, so I can drop them all in here or just add them as steam friends yourselves and throw them an invite into the group.
