Call Of Duty: Ghosts Info Leaked, Is Rumoured Next-Gen Modern Warfare 4

The next Call Of Duty game will be called Call Of Duty: Ghosts and will feature a host of new gameplay elements on next-gen consoles, according to a leak.

The next Call Of Duty game will be called Call Of Duty: Ghosts and will feature a host of new gameplay elements on next-gen consoles, according to a leak.

The game is said to be the next Modern Warfare game from Infinity Ward and allegedly started life as Modern Warfare 4 for PS4 and Xbox 720.

The information comes from a Youtube video in which the poster claims to have the details from an 'inside source' who works within the 'Call Of Duty machine', who the poster would 'trust with his life'.

The details are:

Will be announced 1 May
Is set in the future, but uses current-day weapons
Multiplayer will have dynamic loading screens
Player movement will be changed - no dolphin dive
Shoot while sliding
Spec Ops will be replaced

Naturally we're highly suspicious and would advise anyone to take this with an articulated lorry full of salt cargo, but for those who might be interested in the rumours

Bonus XP payouts Weapon Challenges! PC/PS3XBOX

In Call of Duty®: Black Ops II, every weapon comes with Challenges that reward bonuses upon completion, including additional customization options and bonus XP payouts. Because of this, it's to your advantage to continue using weapons you like, not just to perfect their use, but also to take advantage of these benefits.

Weapon Challenges are broken up into three categories: Attachments, Camo and Mastery.

Attachments

Completion Criteria: Earning XP with that weapon. You earn weapon XP by landing kills and assists using that weapon.
Unlocks: Additional attachments for that weapon. Bonus rank XP.

Unlocking attachments not only opens up more options for your weapon's performance, but also provides a steady and reliable stream of bonus XP. The higher the weapon level, the bigger the payout, so it's worth focusing on a small handful of weapons at a time.

Camo

Completion Criteria: Perform a variety of weapon feats, including headshots and one-hit kills.
Unlocks: Additional camo options for that weapon. Bonus rank XP.

Camo Challenges inititally begin with a series of unlocks based around a single stat. As you progress into later camos, additional unique Challenges become active. These Challenges can help improve your use of each weapon over time.

Mastery

Completion Criteria: Unlocking the weapon, reaching max weapon prestige and unlocking all camos.
Unlocks: Weapon emblem and calling cards. Bonus rank XP.

Mastery Challenges award additional emblems and calling cards. These Challenges focus on hitting major milestones, and pay out large XP bonuses in kind.

Completing Challenges

Effective Challenge completion can really make a difference in both your customization options and leveling speed. Start experimenting with different weapon combinations and focus on your favorites to start hammering out huge rewards.

Treyarch reaches out to Hardcore Community

It’s no secret that the Call of Duty Hardcore Community has been aching for more Hardcore modes to play on. With only 4 modes out of the box, it’s only a matter of time before more are added or considered.

Treyarch’s David Vonderhaar recently paid a visit to the Official Call of Duty Forums to reach out to fans and see what they would like to see next in Hardcore Playlist. It’s just an open discussion for now so no promises just yet, but it’s still a start. We always asummed Hardcore wasn’t the most popular but we had no idea how low the demand was.

Call of Duty World League for Black Ops 2 announced

The Call of Duty World League’s mini site on ELITE has just launched and is a new feature for Black Ops 2. The World is League is based off of League play, which allows you to compete for rank in skill based ladders. You can compete solo or as a team to see how you match up with Call of Duty players around the world.

Leagues are played in Series, each with its own rulesets and game types. Initially, there will be two Series. Your rank is specific to each one, so if you play in both, you will establish a separate rank for each Series.

There are currently two series available for League:

Champions Series
A mix of objective game modes that use competitive rules.
Format: 4v4
Ranks: Team and Solo
Special Rules: No Care Package. No Tactical Insertions.
Moshpit Series
A mix of Team Deathmatch and objective game modes that use standard rules.
Format: 6v6
Ranks: Solo

There are six divisions in League Play:
Masters: top 2% of the active population.

Platinum: next 18%.

Gold: next 20%.

Silver: next 20%.

Bronze: next 20%.

Bronze: bottom 20%.

League play also features Seasons and Preseason:

League Play is broken up into Seasons, each lasting approximately thirty calendar days. At the end of a Season, there will be a brief window of time before the next Season starts. This period of time is known as Preseason. During Preseason, we are finalizing results of the previous Season as well as adjusting the game rules and map rotations as necessary. You can play and practice during Preseason, but these games won’t count for League Ladders. The current Season and how much time remains in it will be displayed to you in-game.

The first season begins on December 1st, 2012!

Tac Inserts’ coordinates reveal real world locations

RaptorClaw141 discovered that if you bring up a TAC Insert in game, you will notice the LONG/LAT coordinates updating in real time. If you put these coordinates into Google Maps, it will show you the IRL location.

Pretty cool how Treyarch shows their attention to detail. Good job!
