XD. It really takes a masochistic sort to get into these games. The satisfaction from beating them is immense, though. It just gets better once you're good enough to hold your own in PvP. Stick with it! The Souls series and Bloodborne are too good to give up on. :D

Thanks mystic ^_^. I recently found that location to be really fun to invade in. Its a small space so finding the host is no problem, and there is a lot of environmental hazards to play around with. I can see why it would be annoying XD . As for you c1K, you may be mistaking me with someone else? I was the phantom that invaded you at Lost Bastille in Scholar. Definitely didn't do any coop today.

I'm an extremely low level character who is new to DS2 and it's mechanics, and I really would prefer not to get ganked by someone much better at the game/much higher level than me who uses the agape ring to keep the soul gap low.

Glad to hear you beat one :D. Invaders can stack the odds pretty hard since they are prepared for PvP, while hosts are usually caught off guard. Doesn't help that most of us invaders are well practiced at fighting other players either. Its a hell of a lot of fun though once you get the feel for it.

In case you wanted to know, the way i killed you was something called a "guard break riposte." If you try to use a shield while your stamina is low, like you did right after swinging your halberd a couple times, you can get "guard broken," which causes your shield to be knocked aside and you are unable to move. If a player is guard broken, you can perform an attack similar to a backstab by walking up to them and pressing R1. These usually result in instant death like it did for you. This is why PvPr's usually dont use shields in PvP. Its a good way to get yourself killed.

First time playing the game, just got to No Man's Warf and I'm invaded by Barbarian someone duel wielding axes, one of them crackling with lightning. I got about two hits in, then I got staggered and suddenly I go from about 900 health to none. wrekt :(
Unrelated, I got invaded maybe 10 minutes later by someone else and I narrowly beat them, first time I ever defeated an invader, which was a nice feeling after getting repeatedly wrecked while just about fully hollowed trying to get to the Ruin Sentinels the other night.

You should give PvP a go sometime. I've gotten more than a thousand hours out of DS2 just because i love the PvP element so much lol. To me, PvP is DS2's greatest strength over the other games in the series.

Glad you got a laugh out of it lol. That said, those weren't lag stabs, in fact our connection seemed perfect. I do what i call "Pursuing the roll." I get behind you to make you think im gonna stab so that my opponent rolls, then i just walk forward and backstab them as they come out of their roll. Its a much more reliable way to land a backstab if you know your opponent is gonna take the bait and roll away. I can certainly see why it would look like "lag" to the guy on the receiving end though, because you assume I initiated the stab before you rolled.

Would probably destroy me anyway though + that Gavlan cosplay was great. Wasn't even upset after recieving the group invites and realising I'd just been wheeled and dealed by Gavlan lol.

Ah yes, I remeber that fight. I kicked the crap out of you for the 5th time that night, and instead of fighting to the death you decided to run like a ♥♥♥♥♥ XD. While chasing you I wiffed a jump by the poison pool and fell off the ledge. As far as I cared I won the fight the moment you gave up and ran away crying.
