Yes its acceptable just leave the base medbays, refineries. assemblers cargo container's in tact, you can steal anything including ships but don't destroy.

If the admins deem the answer to be no to my question below, then I hope to persuade you to allow unlimited offline piracy of small ships. (as losing some/all of your small ships to piracy shouldnt significantly effect anyone too badly)

In the rules it says not to attack players who are offline. Does this pertain to stealing ships? I.E. I find your base, and you have a station and ships around it. I decide to steal one of the parked ships and drive off with it. I do not interefere with the station or the other ships

I heard word of mouth that this was acceptable but I want to verify before getting into trouble.
( I think this should be fine, heard it is and hope its true. the flavor behind not attacking offline bases seems designed to prevent players/factions from being wiped out while offline.)

From what I read online, reason why alot of people either lag when someone joins is because server bandwidth prioritizes world download, and because our world is 33mb people who are trying to get back in will sometimes timeout cause its a see-saw effect for bandwidth with it being split for people who are already online vs those trying to reconnect. Currently there is no mod that allows for cooldown after crash or disconnect, I have seen some other servers that have worked around this join lag problem by really limiting world size.

I could go either way on the whitelist decision, I really hate the lag spikes when people try to join repeatedly, but whitlisting can lead to a barren server.
It'd be nice if there was a way to temp ban somebody who times out 3 or 4 times in a short period.

Thinking about whitelisting server due to alot of randoms joinign and leaving, we got a pretty decent playerbase for whitelisted server lmk what you guys think
