The letter from the Austrian Government was received, but went some time unanswered due to complications regarding an Austrian claim on a potential British colony. We hope your Kaiser keeps to his word regarding this piece of land.

In response to your request pertaining a trade agreement and a non-aggression pact, at this moment in time, it is not in British interests to be tied down in agreements in the Balkans. I will consult the Prime Minister on the matter, but no promises will be made.
