BTS Update: Clearing things up.

Hello everyone,

Lava here to wish you a Happy Easter holiday. Enjoy your time off of work/ school or other. I have very little information and details to give out at this time.

Firstly, I would like to sincerely apologise for lack of anything Aedifcium related or even Starmade related from myself. I have lost a lot of interest in the game as regular players may know. However I am continuting to push myself to restore Aedificium back to what it previously was; a fun and friendly place for Starmade players old and new.

Now, If you havent already, please read Blizzards last post, it outlines what is going to be happening on the Forums and here on Steam. The post is previous to this one, found in announcements.

Aedificium. It is going to be a clean slate. 2015 we had so many problems with Hosts and server bugs as well as developing immense ideas for our server and in general improvements, most of which all fell through. Now, we do still have plans but they are all incredibly downscaled. Yes I know, this sounds like we are putting little effort into it, but instead we will be working as hard as we can on projects whilst having personal lives of our own. This means that there will be more regular but smaller updates. Such as a new pirate every two weeks.

Some server details, fear not for everything old will be implemented. Meaning that instead of me fiddling through the config for hours, we will just use the original one, with some intake from the community (you guys). Meaning that there will be a few more polls and Q&As if you want to know anything to help you or your friends or to help improve the server.

Lastly, finance, currently finance is a problem here and I am trying to work on it in the background, its not something I would like to bring up but the more popular Aedificium is, the more has to be paid to keep it lag free (Excluding planets, not my fault, blame Starmade!) So in time after the 2016 refresh, there will most likely be a dontaion page if you wish to lend your support.

I have no estimated time for everything to be back, I will let everywhere know when Aedificium intends to return, as well as if I mention it to the admins word will most likely get out anyway! Looking at you Kirai!

Okay, I hope that clears a few things. Please comment on the discussion thread in the steam group. I will answer any questions there, within reasonable time.

Is anyone still here? anyone at all?

if so, you might have noticed the server is down. there are some issues we are having at the current time, BUT!

We are working on getting the server back up, with all of its old glory, and probably bug free. this however will take some time...

We will be making a new group for anyone who is intrested. this way we can see who still is an active member of the aedificium community! I do not have an ETA on this however, but as soon as something comes up ill make sure it gets transfered to you guys!

Update #9 Holiday season

Hello everyone,

Tis the season to enjoy Starmade. You will be glad to know after an astounding amount of fixes and some very unstable settings mostly everything problematic is sorted. Meaning that for the holidays we can give you your freedom of Space, fights, adventures and creativity.

There is a few changes and I will update you all on them after Christmas, as I overworked myself quite a lot recently with all of this. However, the others have been working hard on giving you good combat experience as well as a custom spawn ship.

Along side that, I understand that there hasnt been any news for a while, please blame Petlahk for that! (That's a joke) but it has been a busy ttime for all of us.We will all continue to do our greatest to provide exciting and original updates for the server.

Lastly, 24th December, around British evening time, the server will be open to the public and free to explore!

Update #8, Progress!

Dear Players,

Today, for once in too long, I bring you some positive news.

We were able to find, and resolve most the problems with the server, and are finally making progress in the right direction.

A custom server wrapper that was put around the server had caused some problems, and after much hassle and frustration, we were able to resolve most of the problems. We're currently still moving forward with a plan that should resolve the last of the problems. We are optimistic.

In other news, we are in desperate need of one or two more admins. Preferably admins who are interested in helping with world building, and have the time to spare. Lava has declared himself dead until further notice, he kindly informs me that he'll be alive again when the singularity happens, and his conciousness is uploaded onto the internet, until then, send all your questions my way, and I'll do my best to answer them. We don't know quite when this will be, but hopefully soon.

All in all, we're finally making progress, and we look forward to being able to play again soon.

Update #7 Server / Contest and Beta

Hello everyone,

Lava here with a default update on the socket exception of our server. So currently our hosts are switching over to higher performance machines, we are qualified for that beta and will be switching over monday.

As for now, there is an unknown socket exception we are working on. Aside from that, we are keeping the server updated.

Other news, the contest for the stations has ended with a grand total of one entry! Thank you Mox and Kirai. If you want to still enter feel free!

Lava's Admin Work: Day 18 - FINALE!

Hello Logbook,

This is our final log together. Over another week has gone by but it is ALL GOOD NEWS! I have gotten everything working again, with help from the magical beings of course, I can now do everything in somewhat record time!

I plan on running server on the 1st of December (Early Christmas present for some) and I no longer have to accept COMS from Kirai asking me to fix the server. I will work on personalising the server as we go. But it will be basic from here with constant upgrades!

This past month has been rather hectic for me, I have sat on literally countless hours of StarMade to try and fix everything for you guys. I am finally glad its done. For some may haved moved on but others upon return I thank thee for your patience, and I sincearly apologize for my illness, dumbfoundry and all out starmade inconveniences.

Hello logbook,

It has been a while, almost a week. I have been working undercover with the new beings trying to sort out bugs and their "wrapper" as we found it may be the cause of the issues. I have been testing the server and checking its status, but I always end up at the start. Hopefully there will be either a fix, or we can sort the problem soon. I will have to talk more about it another time.

The project is coming along slowly. I can't work on three different things at once. Life support takes time, as well as fixing the virtual server. However I will continue to work on it bit by bit. I also found out some people are working on the contest in the discussions that I would love to see more of!

Lastly, Saturday 21/11/15 I will open communication via the TeamSpeak server (Located at the main screen) It will be at 3pm London time (9 am EST) I will answer any more questions there.
