Lightweight servers are shutting down for reasons beyond the scope of this announcement.

Because of this, the L4D2 hub that was arguably the best so far(at least in terms of server quality) has lost its main admin and sponsor.

Currently the "Lightweight" hub hosts 8 servers in 4 different locations:
3x France, Paris
3x Germany, Frankfurt
1x UK, Berkshire
1x US, New-York

All 8 are available at a discounted price, should you choose to pick up what the previous admin has left behind.

Anyone willing to take on the role of the new primary European L4D2 community leader should add me to discuss details and pricing.

Erik Wolpaw is an American video game writer. Wolpaw and Chet Faliszek were the two writers behind the now-defunct Old Man Murray video game commentary web site. As of March 2013, he works for Valve Corporation in Bellevue, Washington. The Old Man Murray web site had a huge influence on gaming writing and gaming journalism and has been referenced in many computer games.

Wolpaw has given an interview to Penny Arcade about 7 hours ago since the posting of this announcement. Among many things, he said the following:

Some would argue that "projects" doesn't necessarily imply game projects, but I imagine that mr. Wolpaw's train of thought, back at the time, was focused primarily on games, as suggested by the preceding enumerations from the quoted phrase. Apart from that, he is a writer after all, and he was talking about stuff he's involved in -- directly or otherwise. I imagine that Steam boxes, as well as any other hardware gimmicks, would not need any sort of stories to be backed up with.

Well, praise lord Gaben for actually NOT completely succumbing to steam and hats. Here's hoping we'll get a glimpse at those "unannounced Valve projects" before our grandchildren graduate school.

Deathrow is shutting down in 3 days. It's been a fun ride, but everything good comes to an end.

However, if Deathrow has any configs or features that you would prefer not to lose, and still be able to keep playing, there is a solution. You can rent a copy of Deathrow and be the sole admin of it for only €30/month. You can also rent multiple servers in any locations.
