Mass timeouts affecting Rust players solely because of Steam. If this were on Epic, there would probably be a riot

Steam has no exclusives, right?

Remove the space in the URL. A surprising turnabout in /r/technology. Someone posts a link to an Apple-related website that tries to portray Tim Sweeney as a hypocrite but most of the top comments end up being favorable of Epic or at least not supportive of the notion of hypocrisy.
In all seriousness, I'm yet to add my thoughts on Steam vs. EGS. I will eventually make a detailed post (or a thread) with my thoughts on each... mostly focusing on Steam/Valve since it's the one I used the most.

"No," Wright says.
Wright explains that Microsoft keeps selling consoles at a loss because its business model is set up to deliver "an end-to-end gaming experience," and that hardware is "critical to us delivering that gaming experience." These experiences include services like games, Xbox Live Gold, and Xbox Game Pass.
As noted by Protocol, Epic's questions regarding hardware profitability were in order to show that while video game console makers have a justification for its 30% revenue share as it is a primary revenue source for them, smartphone makers like Apple don't have as strong reasoning for their revenue share models.

I looked at my activity feed just days ago and noticed something about the upcoming Life is Strange game, so I wanted to have another look at the store page. Clicking on the game title directed me to its Community Hub instead, with a post on the front page saying something about the game being "pushy about [political ideas]". I join gaming platforms to play games, not hear about anybody's misguided opinions about political or social issues. User reviews are affected by all the same issues.
Steam's various community features such as Discussions, Workshop, Guides, Achievements, and the Points Shop may seem like idle trinkets, but I've found that non-Steam games just don't hold my interest as much, and I plan to buy Troy on Steam when it releases.
Uh huh [www.pcgamesn.com]
Epic never wanted to be a monopoly like Steam (one look at EOS vs Steamworks proves it), so its position as a worthy competitor seems to be secure now, with a number of the upcoming games just announced at The Game Awards featuring both the Epic logo and that of Steam.
"And that folks is the positive impact Epic games has had on PC gaming. Just keep on supporting them will you and in a year from now we also won't have these games supporting even the most basic features."
Epic has achievements, but let's blame Epic for a Ubisoft game lacking them anyway!
Now how would they feel about the developers of Gravewood High putting a Play Alpha button at the top of the Epic Games Store page, leading to the official website which states "Alpha 2 is distributed via Steam."?
User reviews are great, right?
Yet Epic is bad for having Tencent own a minority share, right?

see steam wouldn't have this problem

I’m pretty sure steam is better then epic. You wouldn’t have this on steam.

Some even claimed the Epic Games Store has no macOS support.
As always, the accusations were false and the decision has been made based on the developers' intent to switch to DirectX 11 .
