But would agree Nirvana was terrible.
Kiss and their music way overrated, but not their influence. They were just all over the place back in the 70's. It was more the makeup, the Kiss trading cards. The Kiss Radio. The Kiss Army, Toys, even on the DayTime talk shows and their own halloween tv show.
You name it they were huge. The music may have stunk, but not the brand.
AC/DC were just doing things nobody else was doing in the mid 70's. They didn't really hit until the 80's, but their style of music really created the 80s rock sound. So no, they were not overrated.
The Beatles, well, needless to say they started it all.
And Metallica just over distorted noise, and so yes they were overrated.

Not really, no. In fact, Steve Perry may be up there as one of the best rock singers of all time.
