Steam Client Not Opening, Not running in background either

Suddenly the steam client isn't opening. It was working this morning but games weren't updating so I closed it completely and when I tried to reopen it, the update dialogue would pop up (searching for updates) but then nothing happened. I tried several solutions I've found online, even uninstalling and reinstalling the game, but nothing works. The updates dialogue pops up then nothing. If I check taskmanger the game isn't even running in the background. Someone please help, I've got limited vacation time and I'd like to be able to game before my vacation ends and it's back to work.

EDIT: I don't have a controller plugged in

bro a guy helped me, you probably have a controller plugged, unplug it

Many had issues with controller, like one stated above, unplug it. If not I know for me I just had a Geforce upgrade to my driver and sound card. Not sure but I did not run into any issues loading but I did that before loading steam. Hope it helps.
