Someone reported me about things I didn't do, and contacted me afterwards, apologizing. How should I handle it?
Basically someone ripped the person off, but he has exactly the same picture and name as my account. Basically, someone was using my custom profile picture and my name does stuff. Now the victim (I guess) contacts me telling me "hey i message you because i messed up and reported you thinking you were the profile who cleaned out my skins earlier :3 the avatar and name seemed too similar and it got me all annoyed infact i even rallied my friends to report you and im really sorry i just got a response to my ticket i'll drop some pics here for you to see whats going on.."


So I might be getting report-bombed. How do I handle this?

Someone claiming they reported you is them scamming you.
I bet they said they accidentally did it and need your items.

Consider accidentally reporting them back(maybe telling them so) and then blocking them.

Yes I just came to say that I think this is a scam, because they are dead set on getting me on Discord. So yea, spidey senses didn't let me down :) How can I report THEM?

Visit their profile page on steam click the "Report this user" and pick "Involved in theft, scamming...etc" and copy/paste the chat conversation you had.

And on Discord report whomever they told you to contact as they're probably the ringleader of the scam circle.

I just received a similar message from a scammer. It's good that this topic was found in the search, confirming that he is a scammer.

Spamming support and abusing the report function will get the user banned.
