Someone with access to the account cheated.

The ban is permanent, the skins are permanently locked to the account.

As stated, account security is your responsibility. Since accounts are banned instead of people, it doesn't matter who was in control of the account at the time of the ban.

i know about it .... but in 2005 there was no extra security for any Steam Account, so it was impossible to create a 100% safe way to dont get hacked like Steam Guard, something like that, so where is the Problem to check when, where , and important for me , which IP was used to do this sh*** to me ?

Steam isn't going to give you any information on the person who cheated on your account.

They're also not going to unban the account.

Yes, as I said, I've been in the scene for a very, very long time... but wouldn't you also find that unfair? It would be enough for me if Steam "said" they'd investigate, but to completely block me isn't fair, especially given my background. No offense intended, and don't get me wrong, I don't want any "you're responsible for your account" comments. Is there anyone here who has such an old account (from 2005) or has been playing Counter-Strike for over half their life? I want to "discuss" solutions and opinions here, not constantly read "you're responsible for your account." Back then, there was neither 2FA nor Steam Guard, so please tell me your opinion after you've put yourself in my shoes.

how ui said .... i started with cs in 2002... i "play" longer Cs then probably maybe 50% of the readers of this Thread, and have No....really NO Account or Tournament Page with a Ban....only this old account....in my opinnion there are enough facts that this account wasnt cheated by me !!
Dont forget that im streaming mostly every day, and never had Problems

No, as it's not hard to keep one's account secure.

The account isn't getting unbanned, end of story. Not liking the answer doesn't change it.

No. Any bans added to an account will remain regardless of who was using the account at the time the infraction occurred. Ultimately, the use and security of your Steam account are your responsibility.

I've been on Steam more than 20 years across multiple accounts and a large family. Never been hacked, ever. We flip our passwords around every few months, and never share logins.

I know some people have had passwords compromised when Steam messed up but to claim something happened 20 years ago and caused an account lock - due to not having SteamGuard - is kind of stretching this a bit.

Maybe you just forgot you did bad things. 20 years is a long time.

So, think that you are playing cs since cs go or so.... i play it since the Counter Strike is published.,...so try to recaptch my problem....is 2005...internet is complitly "new" Only way to protect your Steam Account was with an E-Mail Adress and Password.no tradeprodect steawm guard aso,..i would say at this time there was absolutly impossible to save your account against hackers ! I always changed until today my password weekly, in 2005 it wasnt needet to have your STEAM APi or something linke that that you need today to get access on a hacked acount, please dont tell me about something like account security and so one... AND TO ALL OTHER POST; please dont write me, its on you to dont get hacked.
I want to know your position of this ban and the difference to cs2....when vac live cachtes you , youll get a time ban ... its insane unfair....So what you can did in 2005 is changing your Password and e-Mail Adress which ive done every week....but the account still get hacked....

seems fair to me, you gave away your account credentials. for all anyone knows you did it on purpose. If it wasn't you were still careless. Either way the account can't be trusted again.

Bro....how do you come to the idea that i gave away my account credentials ? I never gave anyone my password or E-Mail Adress....in 2005 there were no skins....so no skins, to 3rd party Sides to Login...because no new skins buy or trade wasnt possible, beta 1.5, beta 1.6, Condition Zero, CS:source had NO SKINS !
