Fallout 4 is at its best when you fully immerse yourself in its world. The Commonwealth is vibrant and packed with interesting characters, and I've easily spent hundreds of hours across console and PC, yet still coming back for more. Compared to previous entries, Fallout 4 feels more colorful and alive, which makes the world pop with detail. The weapons, armor and item design are all excellent. Crafting is easy and fun, letting you create everything from useful chems to absurd, overpowered weapons. The gunplay and core mechanics are also solid, for a game that's over a decade old.

That said, the story is probably the weakest in the series. It starts off strong but fizzles out toward the end, feeling forgotten like an afterthought. The factions are decent, but they don't meaningfully change gameplay or interactions as much as I hoped. It needed deeper choices with real impact on the world, but it feels a bit shallow in that regard.

The best part of Fallout 4 is easily the mods and the modding community. Mods add an insane amount of content and replay value, keeping the game fresh even years later. There are plenty of mods out there with enough content to keep busy.

Is it a great Fallout game in terms of RPG depth and choices? Not really.
Is it a fun game? Absolutely

Easily recommendation at its current price, and even better on sale.
