Demo 2.0 is Live!

Demo 2.0 is now available.

This update builds on the original demo with expanded systems, improved balance, and a clearer look at the full game experience.

What’s new in Demo 2.0:

New weapon - Shooter
New support - Mines
Planet selection with 3 planets to pick from. High gravity one is survival mode.
Expanded research system with more upgrades
New level-up system with 30 options to pick from.
Improved balance and pacing
More polished visuals and feedback
Multiple refinements based on player feedback

If you played the first demo, this version reflects significant changes across progression and overall feel.

If you’re trying it for the first time, this is a more complete slice of what the game is aiming to become.

[BUG] Able to miss level up rewards?

Initially I did not realise I was supposed to click to level up. When I finally did click to level up, I was only able to select one level up reward. This may be expected behaviour, but as a player my expectation would be to either: 1. automatically be forced to choose a reward when levelling up, or 2. be prompted to keep selecting level up rewards commensurate with the number of level ups I have missed...

Demo 2.0 launch - April 10th

The next major update for Orbit to Riches is almost here.

Demo 2.0 will be available on April 10.

This update expands on the original demo with improved systems, better balance, and additional progression to explore. It represents a more complete version of the core experience and a clearer direction for the full game.

What to expect in Demo 2.0:

New weapon with unique support upgrades
Planet selection with distinct bonuses and negatives
Expanded research system with many more upgrades
New level-up system
Improved balance and pacing
More polished visuals and feedback

You can now try out a small part of Orbit to Riches by playing the demo!

In the demo, you control a single ship to mine asteroids, gather resources, and upgrade your loadout. In the full game, you can look forward to:

Multiple ships, each with different weapons and support systems, and their own unique research trees
Meta progression, allowing you to unlock new ships, new planets, deep space travel, and more
A ship leveling system, where mining grants experience and leveling up lets you choose powerful ship-specific upgrades

The next step is Demo 2.0, followed by Steam Next Fest!

[QUESTION] How to unlock the locked research?

Not sure if I am missing something, but should I be able to unlock the locked research in the demo? If there is a prerequisite for unlocking, it would be useful to know what it is. Otherwise it becomes frustrating.

Missing Upgrade Descriptions

Don't know if I'm the only one here, but every single upgrade in the tree has merely a blank text box where it should have the description of what the upgrade does. (Except for the ones that are Coming in the Full Game, it seems) Makes it very hard to get into an incremental game, when you have no idea what you're even buying...
