If you want to be the Batman, this is the ideal game. You can fight criminals and break their bones in ten different ways or prey on their fears and pick them one by one just like in previous Arkham games but this time your arsenal is superior, the stakes are higher and the playground is larger than ever.

Exploration

You finally have all of the Gotham for yourself, after being restricted to asylums and parts of the city in the prequels. The open world is spread over 3 distinctive islands, several times the size of Arkham City's map. You can glide through the night sky or use the newly introduced Batmobile to traverse the crime infested streets. I didn't find the controversial Batmobile clunky, it handles perfectly well. Of course the game sets it as the mandatory mode to travel in most parts, but if you are a fan of vehicular games, you will like it.

Combat

Our favourite masked vigilante dons a new suit fitted with more sophisticated gadgets and he looks more intimidating than ever. Accordingly to match him, more advanced enemy types are introduced now and you can't just freeflow through an entire room easily like in City because these guys hit hard and fast. You are encouraged to be wary, use all the combat moves in your arsenal and dodge a lot. Also you can now interact with environmental objects for some slick encounters and in scripted events join up with your batbuddies and engage in cooperative attacks, all of which are cool.

Stealth

Predator encounters are filled with more new tactics, which brings a fresh breath of air into the game. Introducing fear takedowns and voice manipulation certainly enhances 'The Batman Mode' but it kind of make the whole thing easier, a little bit less challenging than City. Still I prefer the good old 'batclaw an enemy over a ledge or send one flying off a train roof with a batarang' tricks you could do in City. Sadly there are not many opportunities to do those here.


Vehicular combat

Its not bad as people say, in fact I enjoyed it. Just remember to put Battle mode setting to toggle mode in control options when you get the chance, it will make the whole thing fun and easy. Batmobile handles smoothly and combat is entertaining. So why did I say it was overused in the caption of the review? Because it overstays its welcome in the latter part of the game and is used shamelessly to fight a certain antihero in a recycled boss battle which totally ruins the chance to see him and Batman going toe to toe in hand to hand combat for the second time in the series, but this time when both of them have evolved more. That would have been a battle for ages to remember. I'm still sore about that missed chance.


Story

Its great, just not the best. Certainly a notch below Asylum, City and Origins. Luckily gameplay compensates for lack of creativity in the story. I'm not going into it much, I will just say a whole new character should have been the titular Arkham knight.
Apart from that, story is a smasher especially in relation to Batman's character. It highlights the inner struggles of Bruce Wayne's mind, his darker persona, the obsession with Joker and the sacrifices he had to make over the years. And it gives a fitting end to Arkham Batman's legacy. (It shouldn't have been touched again but Rocksteady did it anyway and we all know how it went)
Voice acting is at its prime as ever. Batman and Joker delivers as usual, but who captivated me most this time is The Riddler. He had me in stitches more than once with his lines.



Content

But what Arkham Knight does best is giving lots of content to 'Be The Batman". Rocksteady certainly delivers on that premise. Side quests bring old and new villains into the limelight and they were great to complete and didn't feel tacked on. And they doesn't break the flow of main story. Riddler trophies and challenges may feel either interestingly challenging or incredibly annoying depending on your take on them. In addition to the story, there are lots of combat maps, predator maps and batmobile encounters. Even after doing all the achievements, you still have lots of AR challenges left you can do in your free time. DLC were a great addition, especially Season Of Infamy, which I think should have been incorporated to the main story because they were so good and brings closure to several important rogue gallery members' story arcs. Story packs which feature members of batfamily often get mixed reactions. Nevertheless I enjoyed the chance to play as those characters, short as some of them were.

If you are a hardcore Batman and a movie fan, the game gives you lots of additional treats in the form of cosmetic skins, both for batman and batmobile. You can now roleplay as your favourite Batman actor, be it Keaton, Bale, Affleck or Pattingson (I'm a batbale fan myself) and drive around Gotham in their iconic batmobiles. I love this detail, its cherry on top for The ultimate Batman Experience.


Graphics

Not an essential for me and not an expert either, but for a 2015 game, this game looks terrific.

In summary, Arkham Knight is a fitting end to one of greatest and critically acclaimed game series with a few flaws that you can safely ignore and it is the definitive Batman experience currently existing in the game world.

Fun little fact : This game has lots of jump scares. I enjoyed them thoroughly.

I completed Batman: Arkham Knight on my Xbox back in the time, and despite some flaws, I genuinely enjoyed the experience a lot. Finishing every side mission and fully clearing Gotham made the journey feel complete and satisfying, especially as the final chapter of the Arkham series after Batman: Arkham City.

Visually, the game is stunning. Gotham is darker, bigger, more detailed, and incredibly atmospheric, easily the most immersive version of the city in the trilogy. The combat system is at its absolute peak here smooth, responsive, and deeply satisfying. Predator sections are more complex, and traversal feels faster and more fluid than ever.

However, the biggest downside is the forced overuse of the Batmobile. While driving through Gotham is initially exciting and thematically powerful, the game sometimes pushes vehicle combat and tank battles too heavily, even in moments where traditional Batman gameplay would have worked better. This can break the pacing and feel repetitive at times.

The story takes a more psychological and emotional direction, focusing on Bruce Wayne’s inner struggle and delivering a darker tone overall. It succeeds in feeling like a true finale, even if certain plot elements are somewhat predictable.

Overall, Arkham Knight is ambitious, technically impressive, and emotionally impactful, but its overreliance on vehicle gameplay slightly holds it back from perfection.

Сюжет неплохой, на фоне прошлых частей так вообще отличный. В прошлых играх вся суть была в том, что дотеры, танкисты и анимешники, то есть вся грязь, вырвались из аркхама и их надо остановить, ну сюжетище... здесь хотя бы такой какой есть уже хорошо.

Геймплау обновили и обнародовали ол зе вэй, гораздо больше спец. атак, приёмов, боевка уже не ощущается как долбление двух кнопок, не, если ты конченный казуал то в принципе можешь и подолбить, но все разнообразили и стало гораздо интереснее.

Атмосфера как всегда на высшем уровне. Это то, чего никогда не будет у марвел как бы эти идиоты не старались, хоть все героев убейте, все равно ощущается как детский мультик, а я между прочим взрослый, я уже пиво пью балтику и русский рэп слушаю.

Из недостатков это СИМУЛЯТОР ВОРЛД ОФ ТУТЛС не. ну серьезно, ну пару раз за игру позаниматься этим можно, но вот че их на каждый угол пихать, это искренне портит прохождение и вместо того, шоб сфокуситься на сюжете и атмосфере ты вынужден ОТСТРЕЛИВАТЬ ТАНКИ ЕСЛИ Я ЗАХОЧУ ПОИГРАТЬ В ТАНКИ Я УТСАНОВЛЮ ТАНКИ И ПООБЩАЮСЬ С МУЖИКАМИ НОРМАЛЬНО А НЕ ЭТО ТУТ ВАМ
