Undertale is genuinely one of the best things to have happened to me. When I was younger, I'd watch hundreds of related videos a month, from SwapSwap to DustTrust, to Inktale and GlitchTale. I'd take over the family TV to listen to the many Megalovania and Bonetrousle AUs that flooded the internet, until I'd memorized every note. I watched as many comic dubs as I possibly could, so many of them, in fact, that when I voice Papyrus, he still has the Skeletor voice. I pored over as much of the lore as my little brain could get, until I felt that I knew everything.

I'd never actually played the game until last year, but I knew I didn't want to hurt anyone. By the time I arrived in New Home, I was already reflecting on my journey and all the silly characters I'd met. And then, there's the story. I can't read it without breaking into shaky, wet sobs; I'm even crying just typing this. The credits rolled, and the hits just kept coming. I vividly remember letting the game sit on the main menu for 20 minutes while I just cried and cried until my throat hurt and I physically couldn't cry anymore.

And now, Deltarune chapter 5 is out. I'm extremely happy the fandom has persevered all these years, and that we're still going strong. No matter if you're old or young, joined the fandom in the early Undertale era or the late Deltarune era, you're still a fan, and I hope you will love, or even do love the game as much as I do. Treasure this world, won't you?
