Game is still very much alive and has an active mod community even in 2026. If you're a serious Napoleonic history buff, I'd suggest installing NTW3 or another overhaul mod. The base game offers very little in terms of replay ability, besides the Europe campaign. Hopefully we'll get a remaster if Creative Assembly ever eventually decides to stop making out with Warhammer.

i was expecting 5,000-on-5,000 battles but not. artillery, infantry types horrible missing. there only two type artillery in the game. in practice only 2-3 infantry are used. where trombon, health, military engineer units. even if infantry didnt have variety, there had to be taste that could provide it. even warband napoleonic wars had more flavor. or ai, combining, battle vitality experience etc.. call this total war: 'campaign' the game finishes in 15-20h
