I've played through this game 2 times in under 60 hours with friends.
I really enjoy building and farming, I spent a lot of time doing that in the playthroughs even though I knew it was next to pointless.
The world gen felt more enjoyable when it was islands before the 1.0 release.
Almost all crafting, fishing, and farming is a waste of time.
The boss tower was too boring for most of my friends to log back on after reaching.
Tons of armour upgrades can be skipped due to the balancing.
Boss fights are simply, "if you can dodge a wrench, you can dodge this boss." They need more mechanics that are not just attacks to dodge.
It is a top-down Terraria clone, and it isn't even close to as enjoyable, having as much content, or as well developed.
The game needs to be made better, not made to look better.
The 1.0 update was extremely disappointing.

Can't recommend this game in it's current state. The combat is clunky and all over the place... the game can't seem to decide what genre it's aiming for specifically, which is especially confusing when you sit down and decide on how to approach your in game progression. Half the bosses are cheap imitations of Terraria bosses, minus the telegraphing of attacks. Exploration is encouraged to progress but so is using your npcs to gather materials for you and essentially progress for you while you potentially 'afk'.

I always judge a game by the average playtime of those reviewing it. See for yourself the average playtime on the reviewers before you decide to purchase this game.

I'm into the survival genre, and Necesse doesnt have the 3D graphics, but the rest is there... mix it in with some minecraft.. definitely had a great 70hours, I did most as co-op (you can kind play solo then go back and redo quests as coop too, it all works), every QoL is in this game also.. a range of fast travel, automated chests etc.

Lots of builds/weapons/armour-sets to collect.. there is a lot of diversity in how you take on bosses.. though not all as effective, but many of them will work.. there is quite a lot of depth in there with buffs and food, enchants, you get quite a lot of trinkets to mix and match to make your build work for the given encounter (and the boss encounters do encourage different gearsets).. its good stuff.

On top of all that its an automation sim of sorts.. everything can be done automatically by your villagers.. you can even grab a bunch of them, put a healing staff on them and use them to make fights a lot more in your favour.. its a bit of a pain but it really helps.. the game is tuned on the tougher side. There is an endgame system also which is a nice touch, its quite a clever system but not perfect but it will give you something to work towards if you dont want to put it down.

If devs do read these, my main suggestions are that the order of the biomes early on doesnt feel great as there is no obvious order to them but you need the exact pickaxe in order to proceed, maybe make the next biome in sequence part of the questline.

And endgame, I can see the vision.. it goes so close.. the incursions end up too long though.. doing laps.. scouring for the mobs or ore, compounded by rly difficult bosses (the snake HP in particular is so out of whack), it sucks the fun out of what would otherwise be a really cool endgame sequence. It felt like I was grinding my bu*t off for every scrap and material and upgrade.. but then at some point you finally get 1 set sort of working.. then suddenly you have everything you could ever need but no real need for the materials, i.e. its not a smooth ride. I realised late in end game that I could just turn the difficulty down to make the bosses less painful, wish Id realised that earlier.. but anyway it was still a lot of fun! Oh.. and with incursions, the cavelings should have like 1% of the HP they do.. couple of shots should kill them, I stopped bothering when it was taking 20 or 30 chases per caveling.
