I didn’t expect it to top the first game, but it did for me.
The gameplay felt more polished. I had fun experimenting and trying different builds. loved the ending of this game.

Yea. It's amazing like the reviews say it is. I don't play a lot of Roguelikes/RogueLites but I was really drawn to this one. I was drawn to this for the very reason that some people might find annoying.

I LOVE, excessive amounts of dialogue.

I LOVE, slamming my head against a wall over and over. (challenges)

I LOVE, RNG (Random Number Generation)

I LOVE. Good English voice acting

I LOVE, Smooth/Fluid Gameplay

I LOVE, Greek Mythology, (like a lot lol)

I could go on but you probably get the point. This game is a manifestation of several things I love about gaming and about video games in general. If you happen to hate any of these maybe wait to get the game on sale. If you hate all of these. This game will not change your mind. It really is so much fun with plenty of references to the first game. What brought me here specifically was it being based on Greek mythology because I'm a biased hyper nerd for that stuff.

Do you need to play the first game? Nah. But you should. The first game also has everything I mentioned above. this game simply took that formula and made it better and ... yea, that's it. It's fun and you should get it.

Side note, just a small anecdote, there's an explicit mod to make the game goon friendly that's VERY easy to install. which I also recommend.

This game is GOOD! It's fun, interesting, of very high quality.

The dialogue is good, and all voiced
The art style looks good, and has nice pops of color.
Th effects look nice.
The gameplay is fun, and because it is a roguelike, very re-playable, plenty of content.
The music is good.
The characters are likeable.

The game runs well (I say this because I spent more than 70% of my time playing this game on my Steam Deck, and I never had performance issues. The battery will last 3-4 hours on this game in a full charge).

Steam Deck experience is amazing, no wonder this game got best game on Steam Deck 2025. It's as if the game was develop for Steam Deck, and then ported to PC and other consoles because of how good it feels.
